Good evening, gentlemen, in today's post you have to hold on because there are many curves ahead, so I'll start.

1973: Formation of the group

  • In November 1973, Australian brothers Malcolm and Angus Young formed the group AC/DC, which, if you don't know, got its name from a label they saw on a household appliance that meant alternating current/direct current. The band's lead singer was Dave Evans, but he didn't last long and was replaced by the great Bon Scott (I don't know why they haven't made a movie about them yet).

1974-1979: Bon Scott Era

  • 1975: First studio album was ("High Voltage") but over time in 1976 they created T.N.T., Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, and Let There Be Rock

  • Between 1977-1979 they released an album with great songs like Powerage (1978) and Highway to Hell (1979) these events made them enter the Billboard Top 100

1980: The Death of Bon Scott and the Entry of Brian Johnson

  • February 1980: Bon Scott dies of an overdose at the age of 33, (one of the greats is leaving us) and in the same year the current vocalist of the group, Brian Johnson, enters

  • In the same year the group decided to release a tribute album to Bon Scott, this album contained songs like "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Back in Black" which for the group was the best-selling album of the group so far.

1981-1989: Continued success

  • 1981: For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) This album reached number 1 on the American charts, consolidating AC/DC as one of the biggest bands in the world. But albums such as Flick of the Switch (1983), Fly on the Wall (1985) and Blow Up Your Video (1988) failed to follow up the success of Back in Black.

  • 1990: The Razor's Edge which featured the song "Thunderstruck" brought them back into fashion and they entered the charts due to this.

2000-2015: final years with Malcolm Young

  • 2014: Due to health problems, one of the brothers (Malcolm Young) retires from the band and his nephew Stevie Young takes his place. The following year, drummer Phil Rudd temporarily retires from the group.

2016-2020: Changes and return

  • 2016: Brian Johnson temporarily left the band due to hearing problems. Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose replaced him to complete the Rock or Bust tour.
  • 2017: Malcolm Young’s death: Malcolm passed away in November 2017, marking the end of an era for the band.
  • 2020: Power Up: Despite the odds, AC/DC released a new album with Johnson back on vocals, alongside Phil Rudd, Cliff Williams, Angus Young, and Stevie Young. This album was a tribute to Malcolm and received very positive reviews.

I mean that it is a band that is still one of the most consecrated in the rock genre. That has always been able to get back up after a fall and that still has a lot of fight to give.
