Ten HSBI and Two DUO Tokens Giveaway Week 20

Another beautiful Sunday here in sunny southern California, I'm just enjoying another cup of coffee while I get this post rolling for the day. Today I'm not drinking gourmet coffee, instead it's Cafe Bustelo. It's expresso that I used to drink a lot in parts of South America, but it tastes pretty good for budget expresso. Some of the best coffee comes from Yauco, Puerto Rico (which I wish I had at the moment,) that's pretty much all I drank coffee wise when I lived on the island. Just ask @davedickeyyall , he stocks up every time he heads to his home down there.

This past week for the giveaway the question I posed was: What three items would you bring with you to a desert island? I got some great answers and even inspired a full post on the subject from my friend @coolmidwestguy who's part of Team USA on discord! I'll include a link to check it out below, it's a great post! I did get some great answers overall, the most popular item being fresh water, a desalinator, or a water purifier, a great choice since you can't live long without it.

I liked @ironshield 's answer:

I would bring my wife, 100 years supply of food, and a download from the matrix on how to transform a desert island into a highly profitable pleasure island compete with airport and docks for cruise ships.

Now that's using the old noggin!

Here's the link to @coolmidwestguy 's post: https://ecency.com/hive-100848/@coolmidwestguy/three-things-to-bring-three

Other popular answers were satellite phones, significant others, fishnets, solar panels, fire starters, and harpoon! You guys did great, and fun answers to read. Hopefully none of us ever end up in that situation!

Moving on to today's contest...

If you could choose one place in the world to live, where would it be and why?

I think for me it would have to be on a nice, quiet Caribbean island. It's a beautiful place to live. Now if I could choose three: June, July, and August in Wyoming, November, December, and January in Southern Chile or Argentina (because it's summer there at that time of year,) and the remaining months in the Caribbean. One can dream can't they?

If you feel like doing three like I just did please feel free!

The Giveaway

I will be giving out two prizes of five (5) HSBI. Third prize will be 2 DUO tokens, the token I recently launched with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman . It offers those who stake sufficient tokens daily curation on quality posts, dividends, and a tipping bot. It also helps to onboard and retain new Hive members. At the end of the post there is a link to the white paper and where to purchase the tokens. There will also be one legendary Splinterlands card as a fourth prize. If you don't play Splinterlands just let me know and I'll send you an HSBI instead. To participate you need a reputation level of at least 25 and bots cannot win. And please one entry per person to make it fair to everyone.

Legendary Splinterlands card up for grabs this next week:

Djinn Oshannus, he's still up for grabs, no recent winners have chosen him so he's still here!

If you would like to be placed on a weekly reminder list just let me know and I'll make sure you get tagged each week. The list so far is rather short:

@hiveborgminer
@kungfukid
@stekene
@elizabethbit

How to Enter

Every week this will change. I'm looking for engagement rather than just saying "I am in". There is no need to upvote or re-blog, although if you choose to do so I would appreciate it. This week's question is an easy one: If you could choose one place in the world to live, where would it be and why? Since I did three feel free to do the same if you feel like it!

HSBI

If you are unfamiliar with the prize you can learn more here:

Choosing the Winners

All valid entries will be placed on the Wheel of Names and I will spin it four times. The first prize will be 5 HSBI units. The second prize will be another 5 HSBI units. And the third prize will be two DUO tokens. Fourth prize is a legendary Splinterlands card or one HSBI unit! And since I am spinning the same wheel four times in a row it is theoretically possible for the same person to win all four prizes! Although I have yet to see it happen, maybe this week?

Deadline

One week from today which will be Sunday August 4, 2024 at 12 PM California Pacific Time.

Now to choose last week's lucky winners!

And the first spin!

Congratulations @circlebubble you have won 5 HSBI!

And the second spin!

Congratulations @florakese you have won 5 HSBI!

And the third spin!

Congratulations @ironshield you have won 2 DUO tokens! This is his second week in a row of winning the DUO tokens, you're on a lucky streak!

Last but not least, the fourth spin

Congratulations @tonybad , you have won your choice of one HSBI unit or the legendary Splinterlands card Djinn Oshannus! Just let me know which you prefer and I'll get in sent off!

And for Futurama fans, tomorrow starts a new season on Hulu. Just for laughs (we all need more of those!) here's a funny Futurama clip:

That will just about wrap up the contest for this Sunday. Congratulations to the winners! I want to thank everyone for their support, without it I wouldn't be able to give out these prizes to help fellow Hive members. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below. Have a great remainder of the weekend!

And since I am posting this in the #freecompliments community, I just want to remind everyone to take a few minutes to be kind today. Your kindness can make a big difference in someone's life!

Congratulations to the winners!
It's a difficult question, but if I had a big boat and knew how to sail, that's where I'd like to live, going from one place to another on the planet.
Sailors are often welcomed because we know they won't stay, while foreigners who settle in are rarely welcome.

If I didn't get sea sick that would be great! People do get sick of tourists, especially if they don't make an effort to speak the language or respect local customs.

Congratulations to all the winners!🤗
One place to live if I could choose …………
Hmmm…..
In a secluded mountain top passive solar cabin above Leavenworth, Washington. Beautiful mountains, low humidity snd when needed close to a metropolitan area like Seattle!😇😊🤗

Sounds like a great place as long as the volcanoes don't erupt or the Cascadia fault doesn't rupture. The areas close to the west coast are beautiful, but we always have the risk of earthquakes and volcanoes!

So very true!🙄
I read somewhere that Leavenworth Washington is basically several tectonic plates that crashed into each other millennials ago!😳
All part of the ring of fire!😅

I am happy to stay put where I am now (western Canada). Why? I am close to the mountains which I love, I am close to all the national parks in the US. If I need a hot vacation, I can hop on a plane easily. Relatively safe, and few natural disasters (aside from the pesky forest fire smoke from time to time).

Those fires are never fun... I hate the smoke! I saw your purchase on DUO and got you all set up for curation and dividends!

I would love to live in the Alps in France. I love skiing, so living there would definitely help me in the winter!

It is a no option for me to live on a boat. I would rent the boat to a tourist and use the income to build a small house in the rural area.

I have to go with the Philippines. Why? Just know to many peeps there and I think the views are great. It's a bucket list for me 😊

Other two make it Florida during Philippines rainy season. I'll just stay put in the fall (Iowa) 😊

Nice choices! I've never made it the Philippines, but heard great stuff about it! Florida is nice, lots of great fishing plus some nice diving and even treasure hunting! I bet fall is nice in Iowa, I've only every been there in summer!

Yes Iowa fall is beautiful with all the autumn colors. It's a great time to get out and explore a little of nature. Now some years either summer lasts too long or winter comes to early making it feel too short. I just love sweater weather 😁

If I were to choose a place where I would like to live, I would still choose the Philippines, of course, because I feel safer here and I speak its native language. However, I prefer a place in the province, near the sea and a river, with space for vegetable gardening. A province that is somewhat developed and has a city with hospitals, schools, and other necessities. In the capital city, Manila, it's polluted, congested, and noisy because of the vehicles. There are such places in the Philippines like the one I described, I just don't have the money to buy land and build a house. Hahaha!

Popular answer... I don't speak Tagalog though! I only speak English and Spanish. Something on the beach would be nice I bet, and there's a lot of beaches there!

I will still choose this tiny island of Bali, despite the recent problem, and things might get worse in the future, but still my heart is tied to the island.

It's not easy to choose. I live in Portugal and while the country has many great aspects it also is bad compared to most EU countries in several areas. Low salaries is probably the biggest issue because most other issues could be mitigated if people had more money. With that in mind I would probably move to a Nordic country where many people speak English, so that I could communicate. I'd have to research to see which would be best for me between Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland. These countries are much colder but their houses are better prepared for the cold. And I wouldn't suffer from the heat in the summer. One thing that I would have to bring with me wherever I went would be Portuguese food. That's the one area where my country is perfect!

Those are beautiful countries! Winters are tougher though, and I sure don't miss the snow living in California! There are probably lots of Portuguese restaurants around Europe aren't there?

it was actually quite hard to think about a location I would like to live longterm...
I absolutely loved coral bay australia but I am not sure if I would want to be there for longer than a vacation...
Then I started to think really LONGTERM and went for norway...it is the country that will be least impacted by climate change in the future

Most of my life I have spent in a mountainous valley, it's fun to live close to the nature. I'd love to explore a beach for sometime so I think Bali would be a cool place to try and see how it goes. I heard a lot about this place. I have some good Indonesian friends there so would be fun to live there to have the sea breeze pleasing me the most.

I’d go to the front side of the moon. Ok, might be chilly sometimes, and you need to take enough food and drinks and such, but you have no rain, and sunlight 24/7!!! And the view!! Wow, that view, of the most beautiful planet I’ve ever seen, with so many lovely spots on it, that would never be able to choose one!!!
