In the heart of a little charming community called Willowbrook, expectancy for the yearly event which always took place on that exact date every summer, was very evident. The townspeople worked really hard, embellishing the roads with bright and beautiful banners; they also beautified the streets with different ornaments. Lots of laughter, as well as songs loaded the air building up the environs, for an evening of happiness and sociability, all finishing in the grand fireworks marvel.

Lily, a 21 years old ambitious artist, who was recognized for her beautiful and creative paintings,

strayed through the event premises. She admired the hand-made crafts, really feeling the heat of the area permeating right into her spirit. Amidst the large crowd of people gathered there, her eyes locked onto an elaborately created photography cubicle where the spectacular photos which displayed on the screen appeared to pass a great message across to its viewers.

With her interest ignited, she struck up a discussion with the cubicle's owner, a guy called Alex. Their words streamed easily, their giggling reverberating in consistency.

" These photos are really beautiful, they pass across messages even without talking or moving." Lily mentioned, her eyes shining with adoration.

Alex grinned, pointing towards the drawing board on Lily's left hand. "And your paints, they breathe life. With each other, our art can spark magic."

As the sun repainted the skies orange-gold, the event brightened with a 'good vibes' kind of energy. Lily and Alex , sighting the nice display of fireworks in the sky,

decided to move closer to the scene.

While In the middle of the scene, with the fireworks in the sky, Alex turned, looking at Lily right into her eyes, his eyes mirroring the kaleidoscope above, he said, "you see, I often ask myself if times such as this, are a way for the universe, to tell us of its limitless imagination."

Lily laughed gently. "Yeah, it's just like every firework is a brushstroke on the canvas of the evening."

As the last firework to be thrown repainted the skies in a last thrive, they traded a recognizing glimpse, noticing that the meeting that very day, was more than just luck, but was destined to be.

Shortly after the last firework was thrown, they both left the scene to a quieter edge so as to relax a bit. The stars overhead, gleamed like pieces of desires, just as the soft radiance of string lights emphasized their faces.

Lily mapped a pattern on her wrist, and her voice mild she said, "have you ever before likened people to fireworks? Because, in our very own way, we brighten up the darkness, even though it's just for some time."

Alex, who was resting his back on a pillar, bent forward a bit with his stare still locked on her. "Maybe just a few of us are meant to break right into an attractive mayhem while others are meant to admire the phenomenon."

Their eyes held the weight of unmentioned words, an understanding that extended past the present.

A wind rustled via the evening, lugging with it a feeling of certainty. The world appeared to drop away, leaving just both of them behind.

" You see," Alex started gently, "in some cases, paths do across for some reasons and they deviate for a reason also."

Lily responded, her heart really feeling the weight of what he really did not state. "Hmmm...we are like fireworks. They rupture yet after that, they leave beautiful colors behind, leaving the viewers with just memories."

With this they waved goodbye, and left to their respective houses.

Ending number one

Weeks after that celebration, Lily as well as Alex's link grew. They worked together on a job that integrated Lily's vivid paints and also Alex's exciting pictures. Their joint art event ended up being an experience, attracting lots of visitors from far and wide to Willowbrook.

In the middle of the vivid screen of their artwork Lily as well as Alex found themselves sharing a peaceful time. "Did you notice something Alex, it's now more evident, that our art is our very own kind of fireworks." Lily said with a warm smile.

Alex responded, his eyes mirroring the radiance of their developments. "Absolutely Lily. Each painting as well as picture is a fantastic mixture of expression, illuminating the world in its very own one-of-a-kind method."

Lily's stare fulfilled Alex's and she giggled gently. "It's actually amusing how an opportunity experience at an event led us right here, producing our very own type of magic."

As they observed their art touching individuals's lives, they recognized that their link was something genuinely unique.

Ending number two

After that captivating evening, Lily and Alex's paths took them in totally different directions, however the memory of their discussions and laughter together, remained in their hearts.

Months later, Lily stood in front of one of her uncompleted images, with a paintbrush still in her hand... Alex's words resonated in her mind—"maybe just a few of us are meant to break right into an attractive mayhem while others are meant to admire the phenomenon."

Her strokes on the image, came to be extra deliberate, each shade standing for a piece of that evening. As the paint formed she murmured to herself "just like fireworks, time is indeed meant to be valued."

On the other hand, Alex, who relocated to a remote city, peered with his camera, trying to take a nice photo of a chameleon.

He grinned as he remembered Lily's mild voice— "we are like fireworks. They rupture, yet after that they leave beautiful colors behind, leaving the viewers with just memories."

As he took photos of that chameleon, he understood that everyone he actually met was a burst of color against the canvas of existence.

Though divided by miles as well as time, Lily and Alex, continued to keep with them knowledge of their experience together, motivating their art and also forming their point of views on life.

Thanks For Reading.

The storyline follows a classic "meet-cute" trope with Lily and Alex meeting by chance at the festival, feeling an instant connection, and then parting ways. Their short but meaningful interaction leaves an impact as seen in the two alternate endings.

Well then, it seems in both endings, the impact of the meaningful connection Lily and Alex shared spurs them along. So, whether they were together or not, their endearing words speak for the both of them quite remarkably. Well-done with the prompt dear🤗

Your lyrical story shares a lot of metaphors and similes about life, art, and relationships, @timix648. It was very enjoyable to read. Both endings are interesting. One brings the two closer together in an artistic partnership, while the other sends them on separate paths, yet still connected by their memories. Do you feel one is the "true" ending?

Thank you for sharing your story in The Ink Well, and for reading and commenting on the work of other community members.

Thanks for this!

Yeah very true.

Do you feel one is the "true" ending?

Well, left to me I will pick the ending where they worked together, each complementing the other, but then I think I should leave this decision, for the readers to make 🙃.
