Pauline's Journey to Self-Improvement

Pauline, who was a 15 years old girl was known for her bad behavior, hence no one wanted to associate with her.

One Monday evening, she was heading towards her house, and was deep In deep thought. She was actually trying to figure out how she could show everyone she was willing to turn a new leaf when suddenly, she heard a faint voice which sounded very familiar. She turned and saw her best friend running after her.
"Pauline, wait! Pauline!!! Wait up please " her best friend Femi said, still trying to catch up with her.
"What is it... what do you want?" Pauline said in an aggressive way...well Femi was already used to her friend's attitude and so she didn't get offended by her response.

Femi, unlike her friend, was a girl with good morals, and knew how to approach people...she always tried her best to make her friend have such good habits too but to no avail.

"I..I just wanted to talk to you🥺"…Femi's persuasively inquisitive voice asked, "You have exhibited strange behavior as of late. Can you confide in me and reveal the root cause? " Femi sought an explanation for the abnormality displayed by their conversational counterpart.

Initially hesitant to respond, Pauline eventually shared her grievances. She expressed frustration with the way people consistently praise and idolize her father but criticize and belittle her own character. Numerous individuals have even given a condescending look towards her for being uncivilized while avoiding associating themselves with her completely. Despite making attempts at change through improvement of herself, no one seems willing to associate with her still.
Femi on the other hand, who was a smart girl and knew exactly what she was trying to say, kept quiet and listened to her regardless. Femi ensured her friend poured out her heart before saying " Pauline why not follow me to Mrs Kemi's house this Saturday remember her child's naming ceremony is on Saturday and i have already volunteered to be of help there it won't be bad if you join me too". Pauline thought about it for a moment..." alright no problem i will join you" she said.
That Saturday soon came, Femi and Pauline showed up at the ceremony, ready to be of help.

At first Pauline was initially uncertain about her specific duties, but over time Pauline's confidence grew as she contributed towards packaging presents for guests while also providing refreshments.Pauline was able to initiate conversations effortlessly with her colleagues who volunteered alongside. She was taken aback when they welcomed her cordially and did not judge the person she used to be; their thoughts were unbiased by previously held beliefs based on her past behaviors.

Upon the completion of daylight hours, the two friends encountered both weariness and invigoration as they left Mrs Kemi's house but Pauline most especially was actually happy people didn't judge her badly.

As time passed, Pauline became more and more invested in giving back to the community. Helping people around her was just a small part of what she began doing; she actually began to visit the orphanage close by every Saturday. It didn't take her very many days before she formed a liking for performing acts of kindness and assisting people whenever it was feasible.

Upon leaving her house one day, she was confronted with an unwelcome sight - the man who had previously spoken ill of her character Although her initial response was one of rage, remembering how she had promised to act appropriately, she Calmed herself by inhaling deeply. She approached the man cautiously but confidently.

"Hello sir" she uttered. "I would like to plead for your forgiveness i...i know my reply to you the last time we met was very bad and I will also like to thank you for motivating me to enhance myself as a person."

The man showed a mix of surprise and satisfaction he said "I confess, I had not predicted that you were capable of producing such outcomes, young girl. In any case, it gives me great joy to recognize my misjudgments."

The expression on Pauline's face was reflective of her inner joy as she casually walked away.

Her strong sense of contentment could be felt throughout her being, but despite this triumph, there were still many accomplishments yet to come before achieving ultimate success. With an unwavering determination, the young girl vowed to continue following her dad's footsteps, since that made people respect her just like her Dad.
