Why Hasn't the High Prices Arrived in Splinterlands?

avatar

We had a good week for cryptocurrencies with significant gains in Bitcoin and other well-established cryptos in the market. Despite all this movement, why was there no positive movement in the price of the two cryptos linked to Splinterlands?

Coinmarketcap.

The answer is simple and complex at the same time, but in summary, we can say that the DEC and SPS market is limited to the players/investors of the game, and over the past 2 years, this number has dropped dramatically, reducing liquidity and transaction volume almost entirely. With very little new capital entering, the price of these cryptos is limited to users already involved in the project, and I believe many of the holders are currently at a loss in their investments considering the depreciation of all assets during the Bear Market.

As a result, most people don't feel confident enough to make new investments, and that's why this stagnation occurs, even when there are significant market movements, DEC and SPS do not move accordingly. The solution is "simple", all Splinterlands needs to do is reach a wider audience and attract new users to the game, but we know that this task is extremely challenging and depends on many factors to become a reality.

Considering all these factors, all that's left is to monitor the development of Splinterlands and continue working as a community through proposals to steer the game in the right direction, aiming to create the best structure and gameplay possible so that in the next Bull Market, we are well-positioned to attract new players and finally bring this amazing game back into the spotlight!

Bitcoin goes up alts normally stay down and only increase slowly. Alt season is what BTC stagnates or starts to fall a bit.

Exactly, when liquidity starts to flow from Bitcoin to Ethereum and Altcoins, then we'll see everything go up!

We won't get prices going up until we get some new "fresh blood" come in and start buying. At the moment, our market is all about recycling funds back and forth within our small community..

And fortunately this works well or we would have died in this bear market. My expectation is that in 2024/2025 there will be great incentives for new users in the crypto world and consequently in Splinterlands

Now we just have to wait for new users to enter the crypto market

Couldn't agree more. We need new players, but we must have rebellion, land, tech modernization and an improved new player onboarding experience ALL before we except to see those new player numbers rise with the improving bull market conditions.
