Namaste to all the warriors of Splinterlands!πŸ™

This is my entry to the weekly social media challenge For this week's social media challenge, I have chosen a ruleset based battle in which apart from your monsters, a ruleset also plays an important role so it becomes even more important to have the right strategy.

Let me directly take you to one of my remarkable Splinterlands moments.

The total mana cap for this battle was 46, including the summoner's mana cost.

Summonerdetails
I chose the summoner of the Earth element whose name is Obsidian and mana cost was 4. This Summoner will provide +1 magic attack to all friendly magic attack monsters.
Rule set (Aim True)Meaning
In this rule set, attacks always hit their target.

This was not the first time I chose a summoner of Earth element Since now I am learning about elements other than fire and death. The reason behind choosing Obsidian as my summoner was that I rented 2 monsters of the same element, and its mana cost is meagre.

Monsters on the battlefield

1st position (Lord Thanalor)Ability
This monster has a mana cost of 12, is a level 1 card, and he has this Amplify ability which increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, Thorns, Corrosive Ward, and Retaliate Damage to all enemy units (monsters) by 1.

2nd position (Zebajin)Ability
Mana cost of this monster is 7, is also a level 1 card, and its ability is Armored Strike which means this unit (monster) gets an additional melee attack using its armour stat.

3rd position (Nimbledook Ranger)Ability
Mana cost of this monster is 7, is a level 1 card too, and its abilities are Snipe and Double Strike. In which double strike is my favourite which means this unit attacks twice each round.

4th position (Blackmoor Nymph)Ability
Mana cost of this monster is 3, is a level 1 card too, and its ability is Immunity which means this unit is immune to negative status effects.

5th position (Goblin Phychic)Ability
Mana cost of this psychic monster is 6, and its ability is Tank Heal. Which restores a third of max health to the unit in the first position each round.

I am using this monster for the first time in my team because every time before this it has caused a lot of damage to me while being in the opponent's team.

6th position (Venari Knifer)Ability
Mana cost of this monster is 6, is also a level 1 card and its ability is the best Thorns. In which when he is hit with a melee attack does 2 melee damage back to the attacker.

I created my team by using all my mana caps with these monsters.

Now I will take you to my battle!

Round 1

This screenshot is just before the one-on-one battle starts. When all monsters got rulesets as well as Summoner's powers since my opponent had the power to add one health and one melee attack he added that to all his monsters, one of his monsters also had a Demoralize ability so he demoralised all my monsters except my 4th positioned monster lady cause she had immunity. Similarly, since my Summoner had the power to add a magic attack, all my monsters gained 1 magic attack. After which now it was the turn of the monsters to fight.

Round 2

In the very first round, two of my best monsters were knocked out and it was really shocking because both of them could play an important role in the battle but then by the beginning of the second round, one of my opponent's monsters was also knocked out. But still here the opponent was dominating me because my monster lady also had only one health left after which I had only 3 monsters.

Round 3

And soon after that, what was feared happened and my monster lady also got knocked out in a single shot and then at the beginning of the third round another one of my monsters was killed. However, this monster gave a good fight to the opponent's monsters with its ability. But now with me having 2 monsters left and the opponent having 5 monsters, this battle was looking very one-sided where my defeat was almost certain but sometimes in war, even one warrior alone is enough to change the course of the war.

Round 4

As I just told you, it is more important to choose more powerful monsters than to have more monsters in the battle. By the middle of the 3rd to 4th round, my 2 super monsters knock out 3 of the opponent's monsters in 3 hits almost back to back. And with this, the course of this war changed once again. However, now it was looking like an equal battle where both my opponent and I had 2 monsters left. What do you think? Isn't this a confusing war, where it is difficult to decide who will ultimately win? haha!

Round 5

Although by the beginning of the fifth round, my first position monster only had one health left, but since these monsters were very powerful in themselves, each of their hits dealt relatively high damage to the opponent. Therefore, at the beginning of the fifth round, another monster of the opponent was killed and now the battle had completely turned in my favor.

You see, if you have selected the team with the right strategy then the course of the battle changes like this. Now the opponent has only one monster left and I have 2.

Round 7

Since my first-position monster only had one health left, it was knocked out in one hit at the end of the fifth round. In the sixth round, both monsters hit each other once and did some damage, but my current first-position monster had comparatively more health left. So at the beginning of the seventh round, my monster defeated the opponent's last monster in one hit and won the battle.

Conclusion and what I learned!

My first 2 monsters of this battle I rented had more health and relatively higher power per hit. The ruleset (Aim True) of this battle means attacks can not miss on any monster. This is why I chose Nimbledook Ranger because he had the ability to double strike also all my monsters had some specific abilities such as Goblin Phychic had a Tank Heal ability. However, I lost both of them at the start of the battle but Venari with his Thorns ability caused a lot of damage to the opponent and both of my first-ranked monsters attacked the opponent's monsters strongly and played a very important role in winning this battle.

The most important thing I learned from this war is that the war does not end as long as even one soldier stands strong to fight. Right from the beginning, I was getting badly defeated by the opponent's monsters, but then the tables turned and I won even an almost-lost battle because even if less, my monsters were more powerful and positioned in the right places.

You can enjoy my entire battle here!
