The Superpower of a "Divinely Protected" Fighter
The Bible in Ephesians 6:16 describes the believer's "Armor of God". The believer is expected to gir himself with this armor as he goes along to combat life's challenges. The armor provides covering for the head, feet, and heart, as well as equips the believer with offensive tools such as the sword which metaphors the word of God. This metaphorical armor includes the "shield of faith" which is meant to protect believers from the "fiery darts of the wicked." This concept is used to convey the idea of spiritual protection provided by faith in God. I chose to use the above to explain the Divine Protection ability which is received by monsters when the Holy Protection battle ruleset is drawn.
The Holy Protectionalso provides that the Divine Shield ability gained by all units helps to reduce the damage of the first attack received to 0. That means that when attacked, the attacked monster may not suffer damage. Moreover, the Divine Shield will be re-applied when a unit is Resurrected. It is however noted that Blast damage will remove the divine shield.
The concept of a divine shield or supernatural protection for a warrior or soldier is a recurrent theme in various mythologies, religious texts, and historical accounts. In historical and legendary accounts of battles and wars, the concept of holy protection often appears as a divine or supernatural intervention believed to protect individuals or groups from harm. Here are a few notable war scenarios where holy protection was believed to have played a significant role:
- The Battle of Milvian Bridge (312 AD)
- Joan of Arc and the Siege of Orléans (1429)
- The Battle of Lepanto (1571)
- The Miracle of the Sun at Fatima (1917)
These examples illustrate how belief in holy protection has influenced the morale, strategy, and outcomes of historical battles and wars. The sense of divine backing often emboldened troops provided a psychological advantage, and helped shape the course of history.
It is important to note here that despite receiving the 'divine shield" or holy protection, a troop can woefully lose in the battle where a right attack strategy is not adopted. In fact, The Biblical "armor of God" does not provide cover for the back implying that the protected soldier does not look back but has to keep attacking till victory is guaranteed. With this in mind while drawing this battle, I decided to go for a strong offensive strategy that complements the protection received.
With just 15 manna cap, my best choice of summoner was Underboss Fabino (5) with the Inspire ability and the powerful Grund (10). This duo is my definition of a perfect and offensive attack without worries on the defense which has been taken care of by the "divine shield ability.
Having just one monster unit to face three could be intimidating, however, my Grund was sure of the "divine shield" and all that concerned this warrior was to make the strikes that would bring victory. The battle lasted for five rounds. See screenshots below.
Thrice through the battle, the divine shield ability was activated for my monster. Those misses were incredible and very important for my win
After the fierce duel, my lone monster won the battle. The strategy that won was a fierce attack the compliments the defense provided by the battle ruleset.
Remember
That you're protected is not a guarantee for laziness. Get up, put your strategy in place, and pursue your dreams.

It is well-stated scripturally that a soldier needs to gird his loins in readiness for what is coming ahead. Metaphorically, this applies to the Splinterlands fighters; the monsters need to gird themselves to fight and win.
Thank you sir.
I really enjoyed reading this battle report, using the Bible to explain it make it more interesting. Every fighter needs to gird his loins against the attack of the energy. Nice write up
