Adapting to Modern: Prepare to Get More Rebellion Soul Bound Reward Cards Part 10

image.png

Prelude
Welcome back to another new post on Adapting to Modern where I look at how I crossed over from playing in Wild Battles till today on Modern Battles, sharing with the community the struggles, the strategies and things I do to move towards playing in Modern. With Rebellion Soul Bound reward cards coming live, there is an increase in the number of Rebellion Soul Bound reward cards seen on the battlefield, so as I've started to review the reward cards for this particular post series, let's continue to look at 2 more of the Soul Bound reward cards.

I am really satisfied with the new Rebellion Soul Bound reward cards so far as they have been featured often in my gameplay and I am certain as I obtain more copies of them and having them levelled up, they will showcase even more prowess on the battlefield. The Glint gathering needs abit more traction and now we are actually able to pull gold foil cards directly from chest of a higher glint cost. Though not easy, I am hoping to be able to gather more glint per match as I boost up my SPS through winning matches and brawls.

Rebellion Soul Bound Reward Cards

End of season just finished and I've accumulated some Glint and I am in the midst of contemplating

Let's continue from last week where we reviewed 2 legendary water splinter reward cards and completed all the cards for water. Now we move on to earth splinter and continue with 2 rare cards.

Thunderhoof Nomad

First card that we will look at today is the Thunderhoof Nomad. I own a copy of this card at level 1. At level 1 it has reflection shield already but with only a health of 2 mana, it can't really last long in a matchup. However, this card when it goes to a higher level, it gains strengthen and also more health. In its final level, it also gains Triage. What this cards excels in is that it is of low mana and can be used like a utility card. It adds dimension an already strong pool of assorted magic attack cards available for earth splinter. I have not exactly use this card yet due to low level. I will continue see if I am able to get more copies of this card to level it up for more viable use.

Quilliun Legionary

Now we look at the 2nd earth rare Soul Bound reward card which is a range attacker. At base level, it already has close range equipped means it is able to end up standing at the front and yet still able to hit without becoming a sitting duck. Interestingly, this card's attack will remain at 2 throughout but I guess is because of the blood lust it gains at final level. While levelling up, this card gains very good defensive abilities such as thorns and void against both melee and magic attackers. Health wise this card also gains quite a handful. Viable usage will be at level 4 onwards though level 2-3 works well to. I think this should be quite a good card to use in high mana matches.

Assessment
My take is that Thunderhoof Nomad might just be an utility card until it levels up sufficiently to capitalize the reflection shield and the strengthen, otherwise at low level, usability is not as good. Same thing goes for Quilliun Legionary, it will truly shine when being levelled up. Very decent additions to the collection of earth splinter to give new dimension to the gameplay.

In terms of rating, Thunderhoof Nomad should get around 3.3/5 while Quilliun Legionary, I would give it a 4/5.

Wrap Up
I do think there are definitely nice and useful cards out of the pool of Soul Bound reward cards added. So let's continue to battle, clock more Glint, then start putting the cards into greater utility be it in ranked or even during brawl. I will continue to research and look at the others card and will share another 2 cards in the next post.

Let's continue to grow and find path in modern as we journey on playing Splinterlands.

I like to play the nomad in low mana games a lot, but that is indeed silver league - with strenghten. The Qulliun is quite the beast, very good against both melee as well as magic - and even in range-only. Quite the allrounder. Only thing is the cost, I think 8 is one too much :-D Thanks for your analysis!
