PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 23 Oct 2024

Greetings to all, Brawl had just ended close to a day ago and I will be sharing all the matches that I was engaged in for this brawl. With the newest way wins are calculated, participation by guild members is a key now to help win 50% of the brawl, by filling, half the battle is done rather than giving away free wins to opponents. So every match and participation counts and we need more people joining us and fill up those empty frays! And with fewer players playing brawl, it is going to be tougher moving forward to do get higher placing in brawls. We will need more fill up in brawl. In today's sharing, we will continue to dive into the rulesets and how I put up my cards to combat these new rulesets as well.

Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion and Rebellion Card. This is good for me because now that I play in modern, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this fray, I get exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. I've been battling and trying to accumulate Glint so that I can more Rebellion Soul Bound cards into my collection which should come in handy for the matches. Let's start the battles!

Brawl 1

	Remarks
Selection:	Deflection Field, Melee Mayhem and Back to Basics. Because of back to basics, deflection field essentially become non functional since there will be no other abilities such as blast or thorns. So focus is shifted back to melee mayhem. And so, just load up the massive melee beast and strike away.
Outcome:	Win! I loaded up all my big guns and they all strike hard towards my opponent and make it count with each strike. Opponent still had a few range which become irrelevant when they go to front position.

Brawl 2

	Remarks
Selection:	Blood and Sunder, Need for Speed and Five Alive. This Need for Speed ruleset really caught me off guard. The number of cards that have 3 speed or more is not alot and I will have to think a little how to do this. I fielded Quora and Regal to do magic attack while Grund takes the front to smash.
Outcome:	Lose. Not good, I was totally outmatched and the cards that my opponent fielded really was to my disadvantage and they manage to capitalize and gathered a nice win.

Brawl 3

	Remarks
Selection:	Tis but scratches, Taking sides and Target Practice. Regular rulesets, only no neutral, so cannot pull off the martyr trick. So use another of my favourite card, Commander Slade with Oshannus and Isgald Vorst to form the attack line and bulldoze down my opponent.
Outcome:	Win! Ruthless and relentless in the attacks. Slade just made Drybone Barbarian disabled in attack while the rest continue smashing it down on my opponent and secured the win.

Guild Final Tally

I am assigned 3 matches this brawl and managed to win only 2 out of 3 of them (no fleeing opponent). There is also an additional 5 wins due to lack of participation from other guilds. New ruleset caught me offguard and I realized I am lacking in higher speed cards to choose from. Something to work on and expand my collection to handle such a ruleset.

The guild ended at position 4 which is better than previous. With a lacking of active participants to fill the fray, things are really going to be tough as we will have difficulty clocking more win. As predicted we landed in the 4-6 range once again. This is round we are again really far away in terms of wins from climbing into top 3 by approximately 35 wins. To be part of the top 3, we really need more people taking part and filling up the frays. We really need more frays to be filled else we will just be giving away free wins to others when our true capability is not seen. Let's continue to do our thing and get the best out of what we have, learn more about the new rulesets and get stronger. Go PIZZA 2!

Closing
