PIZZA 2 Brawl Report - 28 Oct 2024

Greetings to all, Brawl had just ended recently and I will be sharing all the matches that I was engaged in for this particular brawl. With the latest win calculation method, participation by guild members is the key now to help win 50% of the brawl, by filling, half the battle is done instead of giving away free wins to opponents. So every match and member participation counts thus we need more people joining us and fill up those empty frays! And with fewer players playing brawl, it is going to be tougher moving forward to do get higher placing in brawls. We will need more fill up in brawl. In today's sharing, we will continue to dive into the rulesets and how I put up my cards to combat these new rulesets as well.

Since the start of Rebellion introduction, I have now changed my Brawl Fray to Fray 4 for my guild which is the fray that uses only Chaos Legion and Rebellion Card. This is good for me because now that I play in modern, competing brawl in this format will be just like playing a normal rank battle. By participating in this fray, I get exposed to more rulesets to refine my playing in daily rank matches. I've been battling and trying to accumulate Glint so that I can more Rebellion Soul Bound cards into my collection which should come in handy for the matches. Let's start the battles!

Brawl 1

	Remarks
Selection:	Close Range, Tis But Scratches and Unprotected. Kinda weird in terms of the ruleset for the cripple and the unprotected. But when I see Close Range, I would consider using Drybone Raider if I can since it can strike at first position with double strikes with 2 different attacks. I also added Captain Katie to further take out cards that can sniped.
Outcome:	Win! Drybone Raider eats up opponent lineup easily with Captain Katie further keeping up the pressure and take home the win.

Brawl 2

	Remarks
Selection:	Equalizer, Unprotected and Earthquake. Unprotected with earthquake means we will need true flying cards or cards that can help up to survive longer. I used Pelacor Mercenary to hold the front with 2 other flying cards. Then remaining cards were magic attackers with bigger damage and also the ever trusty Quora.
Outcome:	Win! Another good attempt by the team with a big chain of flying cards with heavy attacking magic cards to wear out opponent faster before they can heal up and retaliate.

Brawl 3

	Remarks
Selection:	Equalizer, Silenced Summoner and Odd Ones Out. I had a little issue with the selection because of the halving of my collection. And when I look at what I had, the most complete splinter up for this will be water. I chose to add up some armour since it is equalizer, armour makes a significant difference. Hence my lineup included Venari Wavesmith to give the armour and Swamp Spitter to repair any broken armour. The remaining cards were heavy on attacks with Nerissa Tridawn and Kulu Mastermind.
Outcome:	Win! The additional armour and replenishing from repair indeed help to keep my lineup afloat. The rest of the attacks were ruthless as we take opponent cards out one by one.

Brawl 4

	Remarks
Selection:	Just Unprotected. For this I've decided to go with 2 Gladius card hence I chose Franz Ruffmane to put in Marisol and Captain Katie. This 2 will make the lineup more threatening. I have also lined up Iziar to keep the battle to it and let Spirit Hoarder to heal it. An additional Venari Crystalsmith is also there to heal up the front line as well.
Outcome:	Win! The combination of both the Gladius cards was too hot to handle especially with Iziar diverting aways all the damage to itself while everyone else focus on the opponent. A nice win for this.

Brawl 5

	Remarks
Selection:	Keep Your Distance, Even Stevens and Equalizer. Not much choice for non melee on fire, so water is the natural choice. Because this is an equalizer I just try to field as many cards as possible that fulfil even mana. In this match I chose 3 range attackers and hope for the best.
Outcome:	Win! Oshannus held on to the end even though opponent had a crazy legendary Gladius card that can blast us. Taking in so much punishment, Oshannus is just so hard to take down and led the lineup to victory.

Guild Final Tally

I am assigned 5 matches this brawl and managed to win all 5 of them (no fleeing opponent). There is also an additional 3 wins due to lack of participation from other guilds. I am so glad to once again achieve the clean sweep and contribute to big win counts for my guild.

The guild ended at position 5 which is 1 position worse off than previous. With a lacking of active participants to fill the fray, things are really going to be tough as we will have difficulty clocking more win. As predicted we landed in the 4-6 range once again. This is round we are again really far away in terms of wins from climbing into top 3 by approximately 33 wins. To be part of the top 3 in brawls, we really need more people taking part and filling up the frays. We really need more frays to be filled else we will just be giving away free wins to others when our true capability is not seen and our opponent's playing skill might not be at our level but by just participating, they get the wins. Let's continue to do our thing and get the best out of what we have, learn more about the new rulesets and get stronger. Go PIZZA 2!
