image.png

Prelude
Good day to all, how are all of you doing? Hope all of you are doing good. I am back again to do another battle sharing with the community on some special and memorable matches that I encounter as I play Splinterlands and it will be showcasing my favourite card in Splinterlands. Today's sharing will be on a match that see me facing a very strong lineup with card that I've never encountered before.

Let's do a recap for those whom are not familiar or players whom just entered the game, here is the Djinn Oshannus card, its stat line and abilities as it levels up.

An amazing card that served me long and entered countless battles with me since the early days when I started playing Splinterlands. The card has amazing stat line, great abilities that can even allow it to be played as a tank.

This is a great card, if you are a new player, I strongly encourage you to get a copy of this card as it will bring many victories in your battle journey.

I was really amazed by this match as even facing newer and stronger cards, Oshannus is still that pillar in my lineup that never fails to wow me with its capabilities.

So without further ado, let's head right on to the match proper.

Selection Analysis
Ruleset wise, it definitely helps if we either have Gladius cards or cards with martyr to give more stat boost since the number of deaths by these cards will just explode the stat line.

In terms of my selection, it is one of my commonly used lineup where I will put my sacrificial land Venari Marksrat at position one for it to be killed as soon as possible with a resurrect waiting for it provided by River Hellondale. The martyr stat boost I planned for Oshannus because by default it already have a fantastic stat line, by giving it the boost, Oshannus can really make melee and magic attack have high miss rate due to the Phase and its fast speed. Following behind Oshannus is Nerissa Tridawn whom is able to do big magic attack onto opponent. Another big hitter that I placed in the lineup is Kulu Mastermind whom has a 4 melee attack wth opportunity. Last but not least, it will be Swamp Spitter whom have decent range attack and provides repair to cards that have the armour smashed. A pretty straightforward lineup with attacks, stat boosting and some repairing to ensure survivability.

On my opponent's side, it will be Coerul Lurker which is known to be a pesky opponent with the phase, dodge and taunt. This card can essentially jam up gameplay as it is so tough to hit it. Following which is the Queen of Crows whom can strike at first position for a range card and it also has headwinds and slow debuff. The next card is Rage which gives Weapon training to the next card, Void to reduce magic damage and also Flying for added missing rate. Following which is Runeseer Savaya which is totally crazy as well after being given 3 magic damage from weapons training, gives Protect and Blindness and able to cleanse an negative debuff. The next card will be Chaos Dragon which is big in terms of damage, stats, able to scatter and have blast inbuilt, another mad card to deal with. Last but not the least is Night Reaper which looks really scary and has an ability that focus on flying cards.

I don't know why I am so "lucky" to meet such a lineup. Everything looks so overpowering and jam packed with abilities. There are so many debuff that is being applied on me and I have no idea how am I going to walk out of this battle not losing. But somehow a card just amazed me, let start the battle!

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - Right on this round, my triple martyr activated on top of rage with Oshannus going straight up to 11 speed. Some minor exchanges as well but generally no other casualties.

image.png

Round 2 - Oshannus opened the round by killing Coerul Lurker but after resurrection, other than a hit on Nerissa by Chaos Dragon, no other attacks manage to land.

image.png

Round 3 - A very uneventful round with not much action due to Oshannus facing off with Coerul Lurker with both holding up strong.

image.png

Round 4, A wicked blast managed to kill off my River Hellondale and things went on as usual after it is resurrected with not much attack landing.

image.png

Round 5 and 6, round 5 saw 0 attacks landed and zoomed past us. But round 6 is where more action start with Oshannus killing Coerul Lurker while Chaos Dragon strike jackpot and killed River Hellondale and Swamp Spitter through a blast, Swamp Spitter resurrects. Things start to heat up.

image.png

Round 7 and 8, During round 7, Kulu Mastermind kills off Runeseer Savaya for the first time while Chaos Dragon struck jackpot and, killing Nerissa for first time and Swamp Spitter for the second time. It is getting leaner by the minute for me. In round 8, more casualty on my end due to the blast from Chaos Dragon and I am essentially down to my last 2 cards with Kulu Mastermind hanging on a thread.

image.png

Round 9 to 12, Many exchanges, missed shots and also some kills. Notable ones were Oshannus taking out Queen of Crows while Kulu Mastermind took care of Runeseer Savaya. Chaos Dragon struck again and I am down to last card with only 3 health on it.

image.png

Round 13 to 17, Everything was crazy as Oshannus just hammered its way through everything and dodging so many magic attacks. But now, Oshannus is on 1 health at the end of round 17.

image.png

Round 18-20, In round 18, Oshannus was taken out 1 time before resurrecting and taking out Night Reaper in round 20 after it resurrected. Victory finally secured with an Oshannus that is on 1 health.

Battle Summary
My goodness, what did I just witness. It is really hanging by a thread and clearing card by card, dodging so many assault that came its way and finally coming on top. What a superb effort from Oshannus.

Wrap Up
Oshannus had been like my most loyal servant since I've been playing Splinterlands. Other than matches where it can't be deployed, it has went through really thick and thin with me in this journey. My favourite card did not disappoint and I'm really glad that it is able to wow me again in this match to showcase its prowess.
