Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

In this post, I will share my experience using Djinn Oshannus who can minimize damage when receiving attacks from monsters with large Attack power.

Djinn Oshannus

Djinn Oshannus is a Reward Card with Legendary rarity in the CHAOS LEGION edition. It is a Magic monster that belongs to the Water Element with the specialization of warding off attacks from magic monsters. It has 3 abilities, of which 2 are specialized in overcoming attacks from opposing Magic monsters.

At the first level, Djinn Oshannus has the VOID ability that can reduce damage to half when hit by attacks from magic monsters. While at the second level, he gets the PHASE ability. PHASE is an ability to avoid attacks from Magic monsters. It works the same way as the DODGE ability which is useful for avoiding attacks from Melee and Ranged monsters, where we need a very large difference in SPEED and other abilities such as FLYING and BLIND to increase the possibility of avoiding the opponent's monster attacks.

While at level 3, Djinn Oshannus has the FORCEFIELD ability which will only be useful when he is hit by attacks from monsters that have Attack power of more than 4 points. This ability is not only specialized for Magic Attack, Melee and Ranged Attack are also included. Meanwhile, at level 4, Djinn Oshannus only receives an additional Attack power of 3 points.

And in this battle, I managed to utilize the FORCEFIELD ability possessed by Djinn Oshannus...

Battle

The ruleset for this battle is CORROSIVE FOG (All units permanently lose 1 ARMOR per round), BORN AGAIN (All monsters receive an additional ability in the form of REBIRTH ), and BROKEN ARROWS (All monsters that have a ranged attack type cannot be used in this ruleset.)

Because it is in the BROKEN ARROWS Ruleset (where we cannot use Ranged monsters), the monsters we can use are only Melee and Magic monsters (No-attack monsters are also included).

I decided to focus my attacks using Magic monsters by bringing 3 Magic monsters, 1 Melee monster, and 1 No-Attack monster. The Melee monster I use is Vruz who has the MARTYR ability. He is tasked with distracting monsters that have the OPPORTUNITY ability from attacking him. And if he is defeated, he can give additional STATS points to the monsters placed nearby.

Despite using a Summoner (Quix the Devious) that specialized in debuffing Ranged monsters (which in this battle, Ranged monsters couldn't use). But I still need her because she provides SPEED reduction and I can use Vruz.

To solve the need for ARMOR that my monsters don't have, I use Venari Wavesmith which has the PROTECT ability to give an additional 2 ARMOR to all my monsters.

On the opposing side, he only focuses on using Melee monsters. He even has monsters that specifically give 1 Attack point reduction to Melee monsters.

In the first round, SNEAK monsters from each side attacked their respective targets (Vruz attacked Torrent Fiend, Pelacor Bandit attacked Chaos Agent). Djinn Oshannus, Venari Wavesmith, and Doctor Blight directly attacked Diemonshark's Health points and ignored the amount of ARMOR he had so that Diemonshark was in RAGE mode.

Diemonshark who now has high Attack power due to being in RAGE mode attacked Djinn Oshannus. But the damage received by Djinn Oshannus can be minimized thanks to the FORCEFIELD ability he has. Then Tide Biter also attacked Djinn Oshannus. Deeplurker preferred to attack Vruz and he also managed to inflict poison effects.

In the second round, some monsters lost 1 ARMOR due to the CORROSIVE FOG Ruleset. Djinn Oshannus defeated Diemonshark for the first time. Although he managed to rise thanks to REBIRTH ability, Diemonshark was defeated again by Venari Wavesmith.

Pelacor Bandit tried to attack Chaos Agent but his attack missed (he also took damage via BACKFIRE due to the failure of his attack). Meanwhile, Vruz managed to defeat Torrent Fiend for the first time even though he was resurrected. Deeplurker defeated Vruz for the first time but it gave the advantage to Djinn Oshannus and Doctor Blight who were nearby.

The Tide biter successfully attacked the Djinn Oshannus but it also received damage and poison effects from the attack launched by the Doctor Blight.

In the third round, SNEAK monsters from each side defeated their respective targets (Vruz defeated Torrent Fiend for the second time while Pelacor Bandit defeated Chaos Agent for the first time).

Tide Biter was defeated twice, by Djinn Oshannus and Venari Wavesmith* respectively. Deeplurker tried to attack Djinn Oshannus but his Attack Power was too great so the damage could be minimized with the FORCEFIELD ability. Deeplurker was hit by the attack and poison effect of Doctor Blight.

In the fourth round, Deeplurker was also defeated twice, by Djinn Oshannus and Venari Wavesmith respectively. Pelacor Bandit briefly attacked Chaos Agent before being defeated by Vruz and Doctor Blight.

In the last round, Pelacor Bandit was defeated again by Djinn Oshannus.

Review

I was able to get the victory this time because the opponent focused too much on attacking using Melee monsters and the selection of monsters he used in this battle. I managed to guess that the opponent would later use monsters that had an Attack Power of more than 4 points so I decided to use Djinn Oshannus who already had the FORCEFIELD ability so that some attacks from his monsters only dealt a little damage to Djinn Oshannus.

If the opponent had used monsters with VOID abilities like Djinn Oshannus or Baakjira (who even has the HEAL ability to heal himself) then this battle would have lasted longer.
