Social Media Challenge || Enemy use TAUNT, but I use SCATTERSHOT

Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

In this post, I will share a battle where I encountered an opponent who used 2 TAUNT monsters while I relied on the SCATTERSHOT ability.

The ruleset for this battle is FOG OF WAR (Abilities such as SNEAK, OPPORTUNITY, and SNIPE cannot be used in this ruleset), ARMORED UP (All monsters receive an additional 2 ARMOR), and HOLY PROTECTION (All monsters in arena receive an additional DIVINE SHIELD ability)

In the first round, Supply Runner and Grum Flameblade* attacked Bera Dallin. Luckily for Grum Flameblade, even though Bera Dallin had SHIELD ability, he still took 5 points of damage because Grum Flameblade had Giant Killer which deals 2 times the damage when dealing with cards that have more than 9 Mana points like Bera Dallin.

Countess Sinash targets her attack at Iziar and deals additional damage via BLAST to Helmet Kharafak and Venari Crystalsmith (though only removes their respective DIVINE SHIELD ). Tinderlock damaged Venari Crystalsmith's ARMOR.

All of the opposing monsters (Bera Dallin, Pelacor Conjurer, Aves Sturgis, Helmet Kharafak, Iziar, and Venari Crystalsmith) aimed their attacks at Grum Flameblade. But in the attack, the attack from Iziar did not deal any damage. Meanwhile, Bera Dallin's ARMORED STRIKE failed to hit Grum Flameblade.

In the second round, Supply Runner targeted Venari Crystalsmith. Meanwhile, Countess Sinash aimed her attack at Aves Sturgis so that Pelacor Conjurer and Helmet Kharafak took damage from the BLAST ability. Tinderlock damaged the ARMOR and injured Helmet Kharafak, while Grum Flameblade managed to destroy all of Bera Dallin's ARMOR (So that he cannot use the ARMORED STRIKE ability.

Although Grum Flameblade's ARMOR was partially repaired by Scavo Hireling, it was damaged by attacks from Pelacor Conjurer and Helmet Kharafak. Meanwhile, Bera Dallin, Aves Sturgis, and Venari Crystalsmith attempted to reduce the Health points of Grum Flameblade.

In the third round, Supply Runner and Tinderlock directed their attacks at Iziar. Meanwhile, Countess Sinash targeted Pelacor Conjurer so that Bera Dallin and Aves Sturgis received additional damage. Grum Flameblade managed to injure Bera Dallin but she was healed by Venari Crystalsmith.

Pelacor Conjurer and Helmet Kharafak destroyed the ARMOR of Grum Flameblade that Scavo Hireling had just repaired. Bera Dallin, Aves Sturgis, and Venari Crystalsmith took advantage of this opportunity to again reduce the Health points of Grum Flameblade.

In the fourth round, Countess Sinash defeated Venari Crystalsmith while dealing additional damage to Iziar. Meanwhile, Supply Runner attacked Helmet Kharafak and Tinderlock attacked Pelacor Conjurer.

Grum Flameblade attacked Bera Dallin before being defeated by attacks from Pelacor Conjurer, Helmet Kharafak, and Bera Dallin. Scavo Chemist who took the place of Grum Flameblade received attacks from Aves Sturgis and Iziar.

In the fifth round, Pelacor Conjurer was finally defeated after taking an attack from Supply Runner as well as additional damage via BLAST when Countess Sinash attacked Aves Sturgis. Helmet Kharafak also takes additional damage from the attack. Then Tinderlock attacked Bera Dallin though the damage was minimized by SHIELD's ability.

Bera Dallin damaged Scavo Chemist's ARMOR. Meanwhile, Aves Sturgis, Helmet Kharafak, and Iziar reduced their Health to only 1 point.

In the sixth round, Supply Runner and Tinderlock targeted Iziar. Meanwhile, Countess Sinash took out Aves Sturgis and Helmet Kharafak who also fell to the BLAST ability from the attack.

Bera Dallin failed to deal damage to Scavo Chemist, but Iziar managed to defeat him.

In the seventh round, Iziar was defeated by Countess Sinash. Because he already had the MARTYR ability, Bera Dallin received an additional 1 point in all stats including ARMOR. However, the ARMOR was again damaged by Tinderlock. Bera Dallin who did not have ARMOR failed to land his attack on Supply Runner.

Bera Dallin was only defeated in the next round through attacks by Countess Sinash and Tinderlock.

Battle Review

This was honestly one of the most interesting battles I've played in SPLINTERLANDS. The opponent was using a max-level Summoner who could use 1 Gladius Card. He even used 1 max-level REBELLION Card as well.

The opposing side mostly uses Magic monsters while my side mostly uses Ranged monsters. Tanks from both sides even have VOID ARMOR as well as abilities that can reduce the damage impact of the opponent's attacks (Bera Dallin has SHIELD to deal with Ranged monsters, while Grum Flameblade has VOID to deal with Magic monsters).

Unfortunately the opponent was unlucky because I used SCATTERSHOT which came from Conqueror Jacek. If there was no SCATTERSHOT , then my attacks would be centered on Bera Dallin who would take a bit of damage because he has the SHIELD ability. Bera Dallin can probably be defeated in 3-4 rounds if all my monsters don't get SCATTERSHOT because he is also assisted by Venari Crystalsmith who has the TANK HEAL ability.
