Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

In this post, I will share my experience using RIFTWING which managed to defeat several of my opponent's SNEAK monsters and made me rank up to GOLD I.

RIFTWING

Riftwing is a No-Attack monster from Death Element in the CHAOS LEGION Edition. Although it has no Attack Type, it is a monster that I often use (or maybe other players use) when choosing Death Element because of some abilities it has.

At the first level, Riftwing already has the SCAVENGER ability that can give him an additional 1 Health point when there are monsters that are defeated in the battle arena either on the opponent's side or our side. At this level, it also has the FLYING ability which can increase the possibility of avoiding attacks from Melee or Ranged monsters from opponents who do not have the FLYING ability.

At level 5, Riftwing receives an additional ability in the form of BACKFIRE . BACKFIRE is an ability that will activate when a monster from the opponent fails to attack Riftwing. BACKFIRE will deal 2 points of damage (which is equivalent to attacks from Melee monsters) to monsters whose attacks miss. While at level 8, he has the HEADWINDS ability which can reduce the Attack power of the opponent's Ranged monsters by 1 point.

This time I will share my battle using Riftwing where this battle determines whether I will advance to GOLD I or still stay at GOLD II.

Battle

The ruleset for this battle is LOST MAGIC (All monsters that have a magic attack type cannot be used in this ruleset.), BORN AGAIN (All monsters receive an additional ability in the form of REBIRTH ), and STAMPEDE (All monsters receive an additional ability in the form of TRAMPLE )

In this LOST MAGIC Ruleset, I relied on Riftwing by putting it in the back position to deal with attacks from opposing monsters that have the SNEAK ability. Even though it's not in the very last position, Riftwing is the one who will face the attack because Scavo Hireling has the CAMOUFLAGE ability which makes him avoid all attacks except when he is in the first position.

To maximize Riftwing's BACKFIRE ability, a considerable difference in SPEED is required. I finally decided to use Quix the Devious to reduce the opponent's SPEED and bring Cursed Windeku and Scavo Hireling who have the SLOW ability to multiply the amount of SPEED reduction that the opponent will receive.

In the first round, Shadow Snitch, Weirding Warrior, and Cursed Windeku defeated Clockwork Aide for the first time (he was revived with the REBIRTH ability). Meanwhile, Riftwing was defeated for the first time by attacks from Dumacke Exile, Dhampir Infiltrator, and Celestial Harpy (Uraeus also tried to attack Riftwing but his attack missed and he had to take damage through BACKFIRE).

Venari Crystalsmith attacks Cursed Windeku and Ravenhood Warden attacks Clockwork Aide.

In the second round, Uraeus again failed to attack Riftwing and he lost for the first time due to the damage he received through BACKFIRE. Clockwork Aide was defeated again by attacks from the same monsters as in the previous round.

The Uraeus who now occupied the first position was defeated again and now by the attack of the Ravenhood Warden. The Infiltrator managed to hit Riftwing in his first attack, but his second attack and Dumacke Exile's attack failed to hit Riftwing so they took damage through BACKFIRE.

Venari Crystalsmith and Celestial Harpy attacked Cursed Windeku. However, Celestial Harpy also took damage from the effects of the THORNS ability that Cursed Windeku had.

In the third round, Celestial Harpy was immediately defeated twice, by Shadow Snitch and Weirding Warrior respectively. The Dhampir Infiltrator was also defeated by the Cursed Windeku and took a hit from the Ravenhood Warden on his second chance after being healed by the Venari crystalsmith.

Dumacke Exile managed to damage the ARMOR of Riftwing while Venari Crystalsmith attacked Cursed Windeku.

In the fourth round, Dumacke Exile failed to attack Riftwing and he again took damage from BACKFIRE. Dhampir Infiltrator was defeated by Shadow Snitch, while Venari Crystalsmith took hits from Cursed Windeku, Weirding Warrior, and Ravenhood Warden.

In the final round, Venari Crystalsmith was defeated twice, by Shadow Snitch and Weirding Warrior respectively. Meanwhile, Dumacke Exile was defeated twice by Cursed Windeku and Ravenhood Warden respectively.

Review

The opposing side has done quite well by utilizing a lot of melee monsters that have SNEAK abilities and minimizing the use of Ranged monsters. Because he used Quix the Devious, he thought my side would use the same Summoner so he didn't increase his Ranged monsters.

If I hadn't utilized Riftwing and multiplied monsters that have SLOW abilities, it would most likely have been the opposing side that won (although there is also a possibility for the opposing side to win right now).

The troublesome opponent's monsters this time are not Melee monsters that have SNEAK abilities but Clockwork Aide. The opponent's Clockwork Aide has a RUST ability that makes the additional ARMOR provided by Ravenhood Warden go to waste so Riftwing takes direct damage to his Health points. But I was also very lucky because I brought Weirding Warrior so that Clockwork Aide's ARMOR could be destroyed using the SHATTER ability.
