Tu Orzeł
Dziwna sprawa. Przywiozłam z urlopu mnóstwo wrażeń, a mimo to wolę wrzucić coś z własnego podwórka. W sierpniu przez 10 dni jeździłyśmy z Andzią po Islandii i to była fantastyczna przygoda. W paru miejscach serducho mi drgnęło. Jednak mój zakątek na półwyspie Snæfellsnes wciąż wygrywa wszystko, tęskniłam każdego dnia.
Tu mam swoje miejsca i niedokończone tematy. Jak na przykład kwestia Orła.
Orzeł (isl. Örn), to jeden z okolicznych szczytów. Tutejsze góry fascynują mnie od pierwszego spotkania i podskubuję je po trochu od jesieni. Znalazłam kilka oznaczonych ścieżek, ale mało ich, więc często chodzę na dziko. Wiosną trafiłam na świetną apkę z naniesionymi przez ludzi, głównie Islandczyków, trasami - i przepadłam. Gdzie ja bym nie poszła i czego nie odkryła!
Lato okazało się bardzo niefajne na takie wędrówki i już myślałam, że w tym roku nici z planów. Ale tydzień temu trafiła się seria słonecznych, niemal bezwietrznych dni. Akurat miałam wolne i wiedziałam, że to prawdopodobnie ostatnia okazja w tym roku.
Ruszam więc znajomą ścieżką, pozostawiając fiord za plecami.
Przede mną góry. To najwyższa część pasma ze szczytem Böðvarskúla.
Orzeł znajduje się nieco dalej na wschód.
Jest cudownie. Wiatru prawie nie ma, cisza niezmącona. Z istot żywych tylko owce. Gapią się, a potem uciekają.
Po drodze jest wiele strumieni do pokonania. Trzeba się naszukać, żeby znaleźć dobre miejsce na przeprawę.
Czasem trzeba zdjąć buty.
Sęk w tym, że gdy poczujesz pod stopami mech, to nie chcesz ich już nigdy więcej zakładać. A trzeba.
Dwie godziny szłam do punktu, w którym zawróciłam w zeszłym roku.
Pamiętam to dziwne, rdzawe źródło. Wydobywa się z wnętrza ziemi z bąbelkami, ale woda jest zimna.
Rozpoczyna się etap nieznany. Dziś zależy mi na czasie, bo nie znam dalszej trasy. Dlatego wbrew sobie rzadko się zatrzymuję i rozglądam. Na to przyjdzie czas w drodze powrotnej.
Fiord i malejący stożek Kirkjufell pomału znikają z oczu.
Oto Örn, którego planuję podejść od lewej strony.
Niewielkie, porośnięte mchem strumienie darzę uwielbieniem. Jeden z nich zatrzymuje mnie na moment. Jest bajkowy, spływa kaskadami po stromym zboczu. Natychmiast czuję pragnienie, by wdrapać się wzdłuż niego i sprawdzić, skąd się wydostaje. Tak właśnie wygląda większość moich wędrówek - zazwyczaj mam cel, ale już pierwszy strumień mnie wciąga, a potem następny i następny.
Dziś jednak bardzo się pilnuję, Piję, robię kilka zdjęć i ruszam dalej. Wychodzę na rozległe wypłaszczenie. Oznakowana ścieżka prowadzi na wschód, znacząco oddalając mnie od Orła. Dlatego porzucam szlak i idę wprost pod górę.
Po drodze znajduję kamień z mini-jaskinią. Przypominam sobie o Wilsonach stłoczonych w nerce.
Zbocze robi się coraz bardziej strome, więc wyliczam na głos, na co trzeba uważać. Na pogodę, stabilność gruntu i poziom lęku. Staram się często oglądać sprawdzając to trzecie. Lecz wystarczają minuty nieuwagi i już jestem za daleko.
Wchodzę w cień i pojawia się zmarzlina, kamienie zaczynają się osypywać spod stóp. Mimo to prę do przodu, jak w transie. Jeszcze kilka kroków, myślę sobie, i dotrę do wypłaszczenia albo skał, na których usiądę. To nie następuje. Słońce wyglądające zza grzbietu gór oślepia tak, że nie widzę co jest nade mną. I dopiero gdy muszę pomagać sobie we wspinaczce rękoma, rzeczywistość dociera. Zatrzymuję się definitywnie.
Opierając się o zbocze czekam, aż odpuści paraliżujący strach. Nienawidzę tego uczucia. Przez kilka minut jestem przekonana, że spadnę. Trącam stopą dwa kamienie, a one turlają się i turlają, powoli lecz nieubłaganie. Ja też się tak sturlam - myślę.
Po chwili mózg gadzi przestaje drzeć japę, ale ulga. Robię zdjęcie na pamiątkę - w dole maleńki Kirkjufell i jasna plamka mojego miasteczka.
Schodzę powoli do miejsca, w którym znów czuję się względnie bezpiecznie. Następnie trawersuję zbocze w poszukiwaniu sposobności do ponownego uderzenia w górę. W międzyczasie ubieram się w polar i kurtkę. Raczki też byłyby na miejscu, ale nie zabrałam.
Za tymi oblodzonymi skałami odbijam w górę, by po dziesięciu minutach wpełznąć jak Gollum na wąski grzbiet górski. Zaglądam na drugą stronę półwyspu.
W tym miejscu mówię dość. Przez dłuższą chwilę strach walczy z zachwytem, w końcu ten drugi zwycięża. Obiektywnie oceniając - nie ma większego zagrożenia. Siedzę na wąskim, trawiastym grzbiecie, po obu stronach umiarkowanie strome zbocza. Jedynie ta przestrzeń obezwładnia.
Po prawej stronie mam południową stronę półwyspu.
Po lewej północną - swoją.
Oglądam się i widzę Orła - no witam pana. Uświadamiam sobie, że go nie zdobędę. Szczyt wygląda na bardzo trudny, a ja już mam obsrane gacie.
Czuję jednak ogromną satysfakcję i spełnienie. Jestem tak blisko, jak mogę na ten moment. Mam świat u stóp i jestem jego królem. I nic nie muszę.
Po chwili rozglądam się już swobodniej. Pięknie widać lodowiec Snæfellsjökull.
Rozpoznaję krater Búðaklettur.
Na północy majaczą Fiordy Zachodnie.
Wypuszczam na chwilę Wilsonów.
O 15.00 zaczynam schodzić. Nie tą samą drogą - przechodzę na południową stronę i trawersuję ku przełęczy, którą wcześniej wypatrzyłam. Jest łatwiej. Po jakimś czasie docieram do porzuconego dużo wcześniej szlaku. A więc istnieje oficjalna trasa na drugą stronę półwyspu!
Co chwilę oglądam się na Orła. Mam chyba pamięć złotej rybki, bo już zaczynam kombinować, czy aby na pewno nie dałabym rady podejść bliżej. Może kiedyś, kto wie.
Przechodzę na swoją stronę i z radością witam znajomy widok.
Orzeł i owce obserwują mój odwrót.
Robi się coraz cieplej. Mogę w końcu zrobić dłuższy postój na posiłek. Z czapki na twarz spada mi pająk - dobrze, że nie przy podejściu.
Prawie w domu. Pogoda przez cały dzień - czysta perfekcja. Rześko - na dole 8 stopni, na górze zapewne koło zera.
Cała wyprawa zajęła 9 godzin spokojnym tempem. Było doskonale.
