SoulKeep Update: Reaching League 2 + Setting up Rentals + Tower reviews!

Friends, I've barely been able to keep up with everything going on in the Play2Earn scene these days! With Pixel taking the world by storm and Pirate Nations becoming so successful they need to stop letting in new players one could almost be forgiven in forgetting that SoulKeep launched last week!

I've really been enjoying the blend on single-player puzzle solving and daily multiplayer tournaments so far. It's very clear that the Splinterlands team aren't going easy on us this time: This game is quite hard but very rewarding.

League 2

As of last week I had completed all the single player levels in League 1 and was farming Fiend Souls to unlock League 2. I've immediate taken to some towers and spells over others. I had worried that the towers in this game would come off as 'samey' but, thankfully that is not the case at all.

Finally, today I was able to snag the final two Epic Fiend Souls needed to move on up.

As soon as I did I was greeted with this:

Sheesh! It looks like things really hit the fan in League 3. That image alone had me very curious to keep moving forward and see what this could possibly mean. This has me playing 3-4 tournaments a day to keep the Souls rolling in and to learn the in's and out's of the Towers and Spells I own.

Towers

A tower defender like this is going to need interesting spells and towers to keep you interested and I'm happy to report that SoulKeep knocked this out of the park. Each Tower and Spell feels truely unique and has their own effect and feel. Here are some things that I've found to be very helpful:

Gloom Owl - The workhorse of SoulKeep. SoulKeep has this interesting quirk where nearly none of the towers are cheap. This means it's easy to overspend on single towers in early turns and get blown out for it. Gloom Owl costs a very humble 60 mana and, for that price, it's a bargain. I am strongly considering reinvesting to upgrade this card a bunch.

Shattered Mirror - In nearly all SoulKeep levels you'll face monsters with steadily rising physical and magic resists. Most towers fight this by increasing their damage and firing speed. Shattered Mirror does this by cutting right through their resistences and dealing damage where it counts.

Quakemaker: Earthquake tower with a large range that slows the units it effects. Not a lot to say here beyond this is a nearly perfect tower you'll be using anytime you can.

Quad Killer: My favorite endgame tower. If you're going to be spending 150 mana plus upgrade costs you need a tower you know you can rely on and Quad Killer just gets the job down. Each attack fires up to four spears at enemies and the buffs are damage and range. It just works.

Setting up rentals

Having determined what my favorite towers and spells are I've come to realize I have a ton of extra cards. One of my favorite parts of gaming on HIVE are the options to put those assets to work and get them renting to other players for daily income over on Monster Market.

Monster Market makes this very easy and, after researching prices, I got everything set up. So far I have four cards renting and making me DEC daily. I'm also earning a nice stream of SPS due to the high number of Gold Cards in my SoulKeep collection. Back for less than a week and already two income streams flowing. I cant be mad at this!
