The Rock Slaps Cody For Disrespecting His Family.

After a lot of guessing and talk, mixed with chants of #WeWantCody and a pinch of RockySucks, the WWE fans were puzzled at the start of WrestleMania 40(kick off) yesterday.

Reigns decided to battle The Rock, and The Rock agreed, but Cody Rhodes, who won the 2024 Royal Rumble, wasn't going to allow it without a fight. He gave the fans what the cried for.

The big question looming over WrestleMania 40 was, who will step up to challenge the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, in the main event?

As of now, the answer seems to be Cody Rhodes, at least temporarily.

However, in the unpredictable world of professional wrestling, anything can happen between now and the grand event. So, while Cody Rhodes may be the current contender, the landscape could shift dramatically before the final showdown at WrestleMania 40.

"At WrestleMania 40 in the main event, I choose you Roman Reigns,"

Rhodes stood before the crowd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and declared his intention to challenge Roman Reigns for the title.

Roman told Cody that he had already had his chance in last year's WrestleMania 39 and suggested that he should compete against Seth Rollins, the World Heavyweight Champion

"with the "No. 2 contenders."

Roman called Cody an embarrassment
*"just like your dad." The American Dream Dusty Rhodes.

Cody then made it personal with Roman and The Rock, saying both of them,

" What are you fighting for, The Head of the Table? When neither of you have been doing nothing but cooking for the last two years".

Referring to The Rock's Catch phrase:"If you smell..... What the Rock is Cooking."

What pissed both of them off was when Cody said that their ancestors would be ashamed of Reigns. Before that, Rock had shown the WWE Universe the family tree on the screen, to show that they are the greatest Royal family in the History of Wrestling.

The Rock immediately intervened, stating that disrespecting Reigns, is also disrespecting him, because they are from the same family and have the same family lineage. He then proceeded to slap Rhodes out of anger.

After that, people held back Rhodes and Rollins to stop them from fighting, while everyone continued to shout, finally bringing an end to the chaotic and confusing situation. At least for now.

At the end of the show, WWE's Chief Content officer, Triple H, as he is popularly known, tried to explain what happened in an interview, but then The Rock and Reigns came up to him and told him to "fix this or else, they will fix it". He said, that's what happens when you talk about their family.

For now, we know that as long as Cody has chosen Roman, WWE has no choice but to give him that chance. He rightly deserves it for winning the Men's Royal Rumble Match. Therefore Triple H has made that official.

What's next?

It's evident that WWE fans would rather see Cody take on Roman instead of The Rock, and they got just that.

But

This story isn't finished yet, and it's uncertain if Reigns vs. Cody will happen while The Rock is involved. With less than two months until WrestleMania, the excitement is growing, setting the stage for what could be one of the biggest matches ever.
