WWE's Controversial Spotlight: Gaining Publicity, Despite Backlash.

Why would WWE feel good about all the negative feedback they're getting about Cody Rhodes losing his WrestleMania opportunity?

Let's begin with the most popular topic right now, which is #wewantcody trending in the top five on Twitter for the past few days.

It's crazy that WWE is getting so much attention on their products because of this. That's a win for them.

Why would I be upset or angry if my products are trending worldwide? I'm happy that my product is trending worldwide. I want more people to know about WWE, I want more people to know about what we are doing here. So if someone sees "we want Cody" but they don't even know who Cody Rhodes is, now they click on these hashtags.

Then they discover it's about WWE, they learn who Cody Rhodes is. They delve into the story, they see what's happening. And now they're caught up in the drama with the rest of us. "We want Cody." This trend has done wonders, not only for Cody Rhodes' fans, but honestly for WWE because they want this type of attention.

Now, moving on to the next point: the face-off between The Rock and Roman Reigns on the WWE YouTube channel has become the most disliked video in the channel's history, with over 500,000 dislikes at the moment. While dislikes aren't ideal, they still show engagement and interaction, which is what WWE is all about.

Engagement and interactions are key. When you consider a good guy versus a bad guy in wrestling, the good guy should be cheered by the fans, while the bad guy should be booed, right? They intentionally play characters meant to be disliked, meant to be hated.

That's their goal. They aim for that reaction and interaction from the fans.

When you're not interested in their stuff, when you're not paying attention, when you're flipping channels or talking about something else, that's when WWE gets frustrated. They feel like they're not doing their job because people aren't talking about them or spreading the word.

But currently, with all the dislikes pouring in for this Rock versus Roman stare-off, they're getting a lot of attention. That's another reason they're happy about what's happening with this #Wewantcody movement.

Another thing happening is that TMZ, USA Today, and Bleacher Report are all covering the situation of Cody Rhodes losing his WrestleMania spot to The Rock, which adds to the other points being made.

Several news outlets and sources that typically wouldn't cover WWE are now discussing them, right? So now, the word is spreading even further. We've got others talking about WWE. There's a lot happening in terms of word of mouth because we've stirred up so much controversy and made all these fans angry.

Now, for that, we're rewarded by being discussed by more sources, appearing on more screens and in front of more people, and getting recognized, as Roman would say, by everybody. Right? So WWE is going to love that too. Sure, it's all negative news, all bad press, right? But as everyone has heard before, any publicity is good publicity.

This is just my take on the whole this Trend.

What your take on that?

Thanks for dropping by.
