Goblin Thief - Splinterlands Art Contest 301

Saludos amigos de Splinterlands!

Les deseo un gran inicio de semana, el día de hoy les quiero presentar mi entrada a la ronda 301 del concurso de arte de Splinterlands, para esta oportunidad quise hacer algo diferente y elegir también para ello una carta diferente de las que suelo elegir a dibujar, esta vez fue turno de Goblin Thief quería hacer de este personaje algo mas pintoresco y divertido a pesar de su profesión, les mostrare un poco del proceso espero sea de su agrado.

I wish you a great start of the week, today I want to present you my entry to the round 301 of the Splinterlands art contest, for this opportunity I wanted to do something different and also choose for it a different card than the ones I usually choose to draw, this time it was the turn of Goblin Thief I wanted to make this character something more colorful and fun despite his profession, I will show you a little of the process I hope you like it.

Lo primero que hice fue hacer el dibujo, quería hacer una versión algo mas pequeña y hasta que luzca un poco mas inofensiva y divertida, para esto elegí hacerlo mas pequeño, con unas ropas holgadas como describe su Lore, debajo de las cuales según la descripción guardan cuchillos y otras armas para amedrentar a sus victimas, aunque al parecer es solo para amenazar ya que suelen ser inofensivos.
para el color, elegí cambiar alguno de los colores originales como el tono de su piel haciéndolo mas claro, el resto de colores también los interprete lo mas parecidos posibles al arte original.

The first thing I did was to make the drawing, I wanted to make a slightly smaller version and even look a little more harmless and fun, for this I chose to make it smaller, with baggy clothes as described in his Lore, under which according to the description they keep knives and other weapons to frighten their victims, although apparently it is only to threaten as they are usually harmless.
For the color, I chose to change some of the original colors as the tone of his skin making it lighter, the rest of the colors I also interpreted them as similar as possible to the original art.

A continuación procedí a colorear el rostro, para generar algo de volumen, use en primer lugat un tono mas oscuro en la parte que la capucha genera sombra sobre su rostro y con tonos amarillos lo emplee en la parte mas luminosa, teniendo en cuenta que la lampara en su mano se sostiene justo a la altura de su rostro.

Then I proceeded to color the face, to generate some volume, first I used a darker tone in the part that the hood generates shadow on his face and with yellow tones I used it in the brightest part, taking into account that the lamp in his hand is held just at the height of his face.

El mismo procedimiento lo aplique sobre la capucha, use tonos mas oscuros en la parte mas alejada de la luz y amarillos en la parte mas cercana a la fuente de luz. lo siguiente fue colorear el resto de su atuendo, para los cuales tome en consideración también el foco central de luz y usa como color de rebote un tono grisáceo, el cual coloque en una capa superior, por lo cual lo aplique a toda la imagen en una sola capa.

I applied the same procedure on the hood, using darker tones in the part farther away from the light and yellow in the part closer to the light source. The next step was to color the rest of his attire, for which I also took into consideration the central focus of light and used as a bounce color a grayish tone, which I placed in a top layer, so I applied it to the whole image in a single layer.

Una vez estuve contenta sobre como lucia mi personaje comencé a construir el escenario, estaba indecisa si usar una bodega o solo situarlo cerca de un camino en el bosque donde despoja a los despistados viajeros y los despoja de todos sus bienes, me decidí por la segunda y de inmediato cambie el fondo por un azul intenso, sobre el cual dibuje un suelo lleno de vegetación y por supuesto unos arboles bañados de la luz de la farola del duende y de la luz de la luna en su copa.

Once I was happy about how my character looked I started to build the scenery, I was undecided whether to use a warehouse or just place it near a path in the forest where he strips the clueless travelers and strips them of all their goods, I decided for the second and immediately changed the background for a deep blue, on which I drew a ground full of vegetation and of course some trees bathed in the light of the lantern of the goblin and the moonlight on its top.

Y este ha sido el resultado final de esta ilustración, la verdad me gusta mucho el resultado, a pesar de ser un personaje algo malicioso, creo que es algo carismático y risueño, me gusto mucho salir de mi zona de confort y elegir un personaje diferente con un tono de piel poco inusual, en general estoy muy feliz del trabajo realizado, ustedes que opinan de este pequeño u bribón duendesito?

And this has been the final result of this illustration, I really like the result, despite being a somewhat malicious character, I think it is something charismatic and laughable, I really liked to get out of my comfort zone and choose a different character with a little unusual skin tone, in general I am very happy with the work done, what do you think of this little or rascally little goblin?
