DIY Cartridge Holder

Evening all

I am currently redoing my workshop and making it more user friendly and safer for a group that I will be teaching woodwork to.

I have way too many cartridges and really needed somewhere to store them.
So I came up with this idea and created 4 of them in around 20 odd minutes.

To start I had some leftover random scrap wood that I actually have no idea where it even came from, but it was a great find for me and allowed me to make a semi nice top and bottom surface of the unit.

Measuring at 30 cm long this piece it was perfect and allowed me to drill 4 holes for the cartridges.
This was done using a 54mm ring saw drill bit. This bit is from a cheap set I own and is as sharp as cotton wool. So this took me an age just to cut 16 holes total!

The unit once assembled with more scraps of wood stands at 17cm tall and very nicely holds the cartridges in with a nice hold.

Yes the whole thing does look rough. But this was done when I had a few spare minutes and has allowed me to store all my cartridges upright, without them falling over and creating a mess.
Once my walls are ready I will be mounting these along the walls so that they are easily accessible to anyone needing them.

If my workbench works out well, I will place these at 3 foot intervals so that they can be easily accessed without having to move away from the workstation.
This will allow up to 4 people to use these and keep working well with less disruptions.
