Hop Goes The Bunny

Good morning you lovely lot

Today I bring you a 1967 5 cent Canadian coin that is part of the 100th anniversary of Canada.

5 cents (1).jpg

It features a bunny rabbit in mid hop on the front of the coin. Surrounded by the coin value and the Canada inscription like the other 5 coins in the set.
Reverse of the coin: Queen Elizabeth II. 37 years old and wearing a tiara
Year: 1967
Value: 5 Cents
Currency: Dollar
Silver: 0 grams
Weight:4.54g
Diameter: 21.21mm
Thickness: 1.70mm

5 cents (2).jpg

Now onto the coin. This is the first in my collection that has 0 silver in the coin. So why did I buy it?
It came as part of a set of 6 coins celebrating the 100th anniversary of Canada. It seemed silly to not include this coin when I bought the others in the collection.
It is also the first solely nickel coin I have ever actually had in my hand which was pretty cool for me.
This coin was minted by the Royal Canadian Mint of Ottawa.

At least commodity value of the nickel is worth $0.052 USD that is more than the face value, $0.05 CAD, of this bunny 5 cents. I've actually found one in my change a month ago so I keep them because with these older 5 cents are keeping up with inflation.
That's a good bunny. 🐇
