Hi, Everyone πŸ‘‹

Previously, I wrote an article about Lux Vega + Fire, Lux Vega + Earth
Today, I'm going to talk about Lux Vega + Life monsters in this post πŸ™Œ

Questions

I hope to get answers for these 2 questions.

  • How good Lux Vega is compared to other Life summoners like Chanseus, Rathe, Lorna Shine?

  • How good is Lux Vega + Life monsters compared to other meta including other splinters?

Let's look at battles of top champion players to see if we can get answers for these questions!

Battles by competitive champion players

How is Lux Vega against existing Life summoners?

56 mana, Earthquake, Briar patch (vs Chanseus)

Chanseus is a good choice in earthquake ruleset because it can heal armors and healing a backline monster's hp with triage is very helpful. Life also has 2 monsters with protect, Silvershield Sheriff and Truthspeaker. Here, Chanseus is healing armors given from Silvershield Sheriff.

They both got 3 same monsters, Uriel, Adelade, and Prismologiest.

I think the biggest difference came to this. You would want to add protect (+2 armor) monster in order to maximize the ability of Chanseus. So Udow added Silvershield Sheriff. However, the card has snipe, so it attacks Kralus rather than Uriel, dispersing the attacks.

Lux Vega provides +1 armor, so they can take advantage of Adelade's repair right off the bat. The Lux team's attacks focus on the first position and it made it easier to kill the opponent's Uriel.

25 mana, armor up, odd ones out (vs Lorna)

Speed and blind are the key of this battle.
Giker brought 2 slows. Star-shroud brought 1 slow, blind, +1 speed from Lux Vega and cleanse from Herbalist.

Herbalist cleanse the slows and rust debuffs of Pelacor Conjure. Pelacor Conjure is back to 6 speed, 3 armor from 4 speed 1 armor. This was very important because 2 more speed is very big, 20% chance to dodge attacks.

Lux Vega adds +1 hp to Pelacor Conjurer as well and the hp became 9. That means heal from Venari crystalsmith heals +3 hp instead of 2.

As a result of so many misses, the Lorna team couldn't kill Pelacor Conjurer until the end.

42 mana, Noxious fumes, Equal opportunity (Kralus vs Kralus)

42-mana-noxious-fumes-equal-opportunity-kralus.png

Long story short, this poison match eventually becomes Kralus vs Kralus

kralus-vs-kralus.png

Lux Vega adds +1 hp, +1 speed. This made a huge difference because Kralus has now 15 hp instead of 14 hp. That means Lux Vega's Kralus can heal 5 hp instead of 4.
Kralus does 4 damage to other Kralus, so if one heals 4, that just means sustaining itself. If it heals 5, it still has extra hp that it could take.

Also, +1 speed from Lux Vega is big because rather than the attack order being random, Lux Vega's Kralus always hit first.
Now, you know which Kralus wins when fatigue hits.

46 mana, close range (countering Rathe with Speed)

46-mana-close-range.png

Magic monsters with resurrect that have good synergies with Rathe are slow. So it will be very hard to hit Coeurl Lurker with multiple speed buffs/debuffs!
Lux Vega makes a great speedy counter for Rathe team.

How is Lux Vega against meta summoners in other splinters?

24 mana, back to basics, keep your distance (vs Yodin)
https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_b73022e7fda91529a2ccdc5ef56161c5
24-mana-back-to-basics-keep-your-distance-vs-Yodin.png

Yodin is strong in back to basics ruleset. How well can life monsters with Lux Vega do against Yodin?

+1 armor from Lux Vega blocks overwhelming damages from Yodin very well. Also, fire doesn't have a good low mana tank like Pelacor Conjurer. That is another advantage of using life.

Lux Vega team really did great in low mana back to basics ruleset against Yodin!

23 mana, Weak magic, Melee mayhem (vs yodin)
https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_b5ebb2458daebb62dcea80b919afb451
23-mana-melee-mayhem-weak-magic.png

Life has many great melee monsters (Chaos Knight, Vulguine, Jared Scar). However, they are not so fast in speed. So +1 speed from Lux Vega is really good for them.

Having Chaos Knight in the second position is brilliant because it blocks some blast damage.

23 mana, fog of war, fire & regret (vs kitty) https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_87e328a19854693f2c8394af50816d35
23-mana-fog-of-war-fire-and-regret.png

In fog of war, fire and regret rulesets, opportunity attack seems very reasonable.

I totally thought Kitty team would win but see what happens!

1 armor + repair does a great job sometimes!

26 mana, Supersneak, Taking sides (vs Mylor)
https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_2943bfd88c2cea028f5fe98ad06cf46d
26-mana-super-sneak-taking-sides-vs-Mylor.png

In low mana, super sneak ruleset, Mylor seems to be a reasonable choice. If you put monsters like Failed summoner, Unicorn, you're good against magic attacks as well. Queen Mycelia taking the opponent's 2 armors is very good too.

Lux team adds +2 armors from Truthspeaker, which gets removed from Queen Mycelia. However, 1 armor from Lux Vega is still there, protecting the team from thorns damage.

I love Chaos Knight in the back, protecting the team from sneak attacks while adding +1 melee damage to the team.

Jared Scar is just doing amazing, 7 damage with no miss (aim true), eliminating the opponent's monsters one by one surely. It also gets 1 armor back from killing one monster, so it doesn't die from Mylor's thorns!

Monsters that get big benefits from Lux Vega

Modern

+1 speed => make it even more evasive
+1 armor => it can take another hit on top of divine shield
+1 hp => heals 3 hp instead of 2 hp if it gets healed.

Another evasive character when it is enraged. This card does extremely well in melee mayhem and super sneak too.

Lux Vega made life team very strong in melee mayhem and super sneak rulesets. Jared is the key monster in those rulesets.

Lux Vega made life team very strong in melee mayhem and super sneak rulesets. Silvershield Knight is extremely good in those rulesets because of inspire, piercing, trample with decent speed and decent melee attacks.

Another great monster in super sneak and melee mayhem!

Summary

  1. Lux Vega + Life monsters can do well against existing life summoners. Life monsters are generally not so fast. +1 speed from Lux Vega can make life team much more powerful.

  2. Lux Vega + Life monsters can do well against existing meta summoners as well. They shines especially in super sneak, or melee mayhem.
