Battle Mage Secrets: Difference in Damage or Mana Support Monsters Strategy

Hello! to all members of the Splinterlands community. I'm @zactian. I'll write about my strategy and another weekly challenge, Battle Mage Secrets, in my blog today.


What Account Use

I'm using BLTZR-WIZARD-728. I'll share my main strategy in this straightforward but efficient likelihood of winning rule-set max-level cards in a modern format.

Lost Legendaries is the challenge, where legendary units won't be able to use in battle except a summoner card. Depending on the rule set, a good strategy will use the most units a high-speed card, and great damage.

Counterspell

  • All units will gain Magic Reflect ability.

  • Legendary units won't be able to be used in this battle except Legendary summoners.

Recommended summoner to use Lost Legendary rule set for this match:

I can imagine that the opponent will choose a range attack or melee attack strategy because only fire is inactive in this battle and no overwhelm legendary will be deployed due to Lost Legendaries. Since Quix the Devious is the only card summoner I have that costs less than four mana, I would advise selecting the Dragon Element.

This is a good summoner for extra cards to choose from. With this Counterspell rule set, I can be guaranteed that the opponent will use also the dragon element with a range attack strategy. Now the only difference is the cards used in the battle are speed and if the opponent uses overpowered cards that I don't have especially Rebellion or Riftwatcher.

I would plan to use the Dragon and Life elements as these element units have most of the advantage in speed present and of course a decent damage range, I will use a range attacks strategy.



Note: I only have limited cards but they are useful in some rule sets and I will try my best to win with existing cards. So if you want a high chance of winning, I advise you to rent or buy useful or stronger cards for most rule sets.

My Lineup

First position - Arkemis the Bear

  • Arkemis the Bearis used in this battle because of its massive health and armor which is good for tanking in the first position. It has helpful abilities such as Protect ability can give +2 to all friendly units, Forcefield ability if an opponent uses more than 5 damage it will only give damage by 1, and Rage Ability if this unit is not on the original it will buff stats by 50% both speed and melee damage.

Second position - Djinn Renova

  • I know there's a Counterspell, but I just can't help because the mana cap is 60 and I want more damage, hence I choose this that has 4 magic damage and can also heal that friendly backline especially itself.

Third position - War Pegasus

  • My main range damage attack of my team with 4 melee damage with a 5 speed, 4 range damage, 9 health, and some useful abilities like Demoralize ability that can reduce melee damage of the opposing team by 1. I put this in third position because of massive health, decent speed, and Flying which has a chance to miss incoming range and melee attacks.

Fourth position - Supply Runner

  • The support range unit of my team, Swiftness ability that can increase the speed of my friendly units by 1, and Strengthen Ability that increases the health of friendly units.

Fifth position - Henchling Enforcer

  • Another support unit could be another main damage, with a Halving ability that can reduce opponent damage by 50% and a True Strike ability that guarantees a hit. Has 3 range damage only since it is not in max level.

Last position - Prismologist

  • Acts as another main range damage because of 4 range damage with Blast ability that can do half damage to enemy units adjacent to the target unit.

Analyzing Battle

The opponent puts too much support for the first position, the only difference is that my team is prioritized in range damage with some helpful support abilities while the opponent focuses on more defense and healing in the first position. As you can see the opponent uses Lily Shieldpaw summoner with Grimbardun Smith Strategy. Grimbardun Smith is way overpowering once combined with healing and repair abilities it is unstoppable. The opponent has two Rapair abilities which can repair the armor of Grimbardun Smith, Grimbardun Smith and Junker have the Repair ability, and Venari Crystalsmith and Meriput Magician have the Healing ability. Let's calculate if I can out-damage the opponent, if rage I have 3 melee damage, 2 magic damage, and melee damage. Note that I already reduce it by half because of Grimbardun Smith's tanky abilities. Based on a calculation I dominated the opponent in damage but if only my attacks were able to hit all rounds, Am I gonna lose this battle? let us see.

Effective or not?

I was lucky enough that attacks were hitting the opponent with no miss. Notice also the speed difference since the opponent has the time to heal and repair the Grimbardun Smith making it easily hit the health.

The rest are now easy to execute since opponents don't have enough damage to execute early rounds to my Arkemis the Bear.
The opponent has excellent card placing and planning skills as well in utilizing Grimbardun Smith with Lily Shieldpaw summoner. I might lose this battle if the opponent has stronger cards than I do. To increase your chances of winning the match, acquire or rent stronger and more useful cards.

My favorite element line-up is the water element, where the majority of the units are fast. If you wish to utilize the water element, please go through a few of my posts, I hope you find them helpful.
