Modern Gold league Gold foil Tournament
Hello, my fellow splinterlands lovers!
I hope you all are doing well in your life and also enjoying the Splinterlands game. A few days ago, I posted A Rare Undefeated Modern Gold league Gold foil Tournament, where I shared some of my top battles of that tournament. Once again I become the champion of recent Modern Goold league Gold foil Tournament. Last time I was undefeated, but this time it wasn't. I lost one battle against a popular top guild member.
As you can see,, I claim the championship throne, and Byzantinist became 2nd and 3rd, We both got the same amount of SPS as prize. In the first round, there were several fled, seven battles were successfully played, and the other four were fled. In the final round, there was no run, and all ten battles were successfully played, but only one loss against a SAMURAI SOUL 🗻 LLAC guild member (HAMETARO). So let's check out some of my top battles.
⚔️ THE BATTLE ⚔️
This was the 2nd battle of first-round, and I chose this battle because it was a low mana single ruleset battle. It was an interesting match, Why ?? First of all, it was 13 mana game, Back to Basic ruleset and four elements were active. So you have to choose your monsters carefully. We both used Life elements summoner, But I used LORNA SHINE
& my opponent used ILTHAIN
. The reason behind using LORNA SHINE
is it gives your cards Divine Shield
, which means that even in the Back to Basics
ruleset they'll need to get hit at least twice before they die. Also it costs only 3 mana, which is very useful in low mana battles. But on the other side ILTHAIN
provides Return Fire, it's good against ranged attack monsters but not against magic/melee attacks and Also it cost 4 mana. Because of that 1 extra mana advantage I was able to use 6 monsters and that's where the game changed. The last man stand was TEMPORAL MASTER
, who barely gets used in a battle 😄.
⚔️ THE BATTLE ⚔️
This battle was against one of the top well known player Jacekw
. It was a 41 mid mana game and two rulesets was applied Noxious Fumes - All monsters are afflicted with the Poison debuff at the start of the game.
& Unprotected - All armor is removed from monsters and one cannot gain armor.
and only two elements were active Fire & Earth. We both goes with Fire element and used Yodin Zaku
. Yodin Zaku costs 7 mana, boosts team's ranged damage, adds 1 additional health & gives Blast to entire team, which means that it does additional damage to monsters adjacent to the target monster. During team selection, I used Magnor
as a front tank (Because it has a large amount of health and also has Taunt & Trample
abilities); then I used Ash Mirage
(It has Reflection Shield
, which protects it from Blast damage & Headwinds
Reduces the Ranged attack of all enemy Monsters.); On 3rd position I used Blood Maker
(It has Scattershot
& Cripple
abilities); then it comes to speedy Supply Runner
(It has Swiftness
ability, which significantly improves your team's speed); Next 2 mana Scavo Chemist
(It doesn't have any attack but it has Cleanse, making it helpful for survivability in Noxious Fumes
& Slow
ability Reduces the Speed of all enemy Monsters by 1); on the last spot low health & high speedy ranged attack monster Spark Pixies
( It has Stun
ability, which has a 50% chance of activation to stun the target causing it to skip its next turn). I hope you guys will enjoy the MAGNOR TRAMPLE 😉.
⚔️ THE BATTLE ⚔️
In this game, my opponent was another top guild & top rank player Ula.ocean
.It was a 24 low mid mana game and this time 3 rulesets was applied Are You Not Entertained ? - Allows the use of one additional Gladiator card in the match.
, Even Stevens - Only monsters with even mana costs may be used.
& Going the Distance - Only monsters with ranged attacks may be used.
and almost all elements was active except water element. Now during selecting my summoner I had to decide which way I should go, because it was a only ranged attack monsters can be used So if I go full offensive then I had to chose Yodin Zaku, but Yodin zaku cost 7 mana and it was a low mid mana game so I won't have much good choice during selecting monsters and Another one is Fernheart, It gives entire team Close Range, which is extremely useful in the Going the Distance
ruleset since you can only play ranged monsters, But on the other side Earth splinter doesn't have that many low even mana ranged monsters. So I decided to go offensive and defensive as well. We both used Quix the Devious
as our summoner, It reduces enemy's ranged damage & It also reduces the enemy team's speed. Now the crucial part is to select a Tank which have a large amount of health and also have some defensive & offensive abilities which will help it to stay alive for longer time and for that reason I selected Cornealus
as my tank. I used Cornealus
as my tank even after knowing that it doesn't have close range ability, so it can't attack from tank position at this match. So why did I selected this ? I selected this Because of It has Return Fire
& Heal
abilities. It can't attack but It can return fire if you attack it 😉. Also It Heal
ability will keep it alive for longer time. Then on 2nd position I used Venari Crystalsmith
(It has Tank Heal
ability, which restores a portion of Cornealus health each round & It also has Dispel
ability, which clears all positive status effects on that enemy) So it's double heal for Cornealus. Then I used Low mana speedy ranged attack monster Naga Assassin
; After that I used one of the best low mana support monster Herbalist
, IMO it is the best low mana medic monster. Why ?? It only costs 2 mana to summon, making it a good choice for low mana games , It has Cleanse
ability ensures Cornealus will be able to heal by removing any Afflictions & It also has Triage
ability, which heals the friendly back-line monster that has taken the most damage. So if enemy team have blast and damaged Venari Crystalsmith health, then it will heal that damage. On the last spot, I used Xenith Archer
just to fill up the mana gap. So as you can see everything goes well according to the plan. Because of the enemy stun Cornealus
was stunned several times but cleanse
and Tank Heal
helped to get through the damage and also keep it alive for a longer time. But In the end Venari Crystalsmith
played the Hero role in this match. I hope you guys will enjoy this battle.
It was indeed a great tournament experience for me; back to back championship will increase my confidence in future tournaments. As You can see, there is one loss and tbh, I learned something new from that loss. So it will also help me in the future. I really enjoyed watching those battles. If you have any suggestions about my battle lineups, Please let me know in the comment box. Thanks & have a great day.
