To be honest, I have never paid much attention to Hive Power Up Day (HPUD). I think it is a nice initiative for our middle class. However, since to do not post regularly, I always forget the day and when I remember, I have been likely writing something else that on my mind. Today, however, I do have power up on my mind. So I thought why don't I write a post like every other minnow and show some respect to them.

It's nothing much, but perhaps just a token of gratitude. Lately there have been a lot of post published to show communities commitment to the hive blockchain. This goes from individuals to projects at well.
Splinterlands DAO did a massive power UP
Recently SPS.DAO have been buying hive from market. This is happening for the last few days now. I am an active member of the SPS.DAO, and I am happy to show that SPS.DAO bought hive and powered up nearly 1M hive!

That is just the SPS.DAO account. In addition to that Splinterlands curation account recently powered up additional 300K hive!
Together there is already 1.3M hive out of circulation and powered up for the long term. In addition, I am urging our splinterlands community to individualy power up hive, however little that might be.

why @sps.dao has not voted on Splinterlands proposal yet? Splinterlands is not currently receiving funding from DHF
It has. The votes do not show because at hive brand new power up takes 30 days to activate. This is a protective policy

I did a relatively small power up myself today. I pretty much power up every day though by collecting my post rewards and not powering them down.

That's quite cool! I thought spl was powering down so I went ahead and offered a helping hand to the curation of the community and amazing artists there some time ago but got no response (I'm sure yabap is very busy) but maybe this also explains that it wasn't needed.

Indeed it was powering down earlier. However, SPL community pushed for the power up and we achieved it.

Yes, thanks. I can do most things just fine, including driving. However, I do not have 100% range of motion on my neck. Also if I stand-sit-walk for longish, my neck and whole upper body becomes tired.

Good to see you and some others still being invested in SPL. Sadly I lost the enjoyment I got out of playing SPL and thus sold most of my cards over the past few months. Today and in July I powered up most of the Hive that I got for it. So, at least it stays in the ecosystem.
maybe you can reconsider playing again. Prices are low, and a lot of improvement on the game have been made
For me it is more a case of not gaming much at all anymore in general. I started doing more art again. And blogging 😃.

Hive has a lot of tradition. They were developed over the years by community members to keep people engaged and help the community to survive through long bear market. This is one such tradition.
Wow, this is so encouraging. I publish most of my blog with 100% power-up. I see these low prices as a big opportunity and the goal is to build as much HP as possible because the future of Hive is bright and there is no doubt about that. :)

not really, but people often do. Over my last 6 years, that would be about 72 possible opportunities, this is my first such post!
I find it's crazy to think that I have more HPUD badges than you, even though I only have a modest 1500 HP that you basically matched with your most recent powerup in one transaction.
So far, my bees have been rather small. But now that I am taking SPS rewards from my two alt accounts to swap for HIVE every seven days, I'm hoping for a much bigger bee this October HPUD.
There's also a $LEO power up day on the 15th of each month... I think I did that once around the start of the year when I was experimenting with Leo Threads. I wish we had a more active Splinterlands present on inLeo threads like we do on X. Still not convinced on the value of the 10 HBD monthly premium membership, but I'm definitely curious!

I think crypto in general has a nice community on X. But you are right with the wackos who post crazy content on that site. I'm glad I've done a good job curating my different X accounts to only follow people in my immediate interests.
