From Zero to Hero: Renting from Gold III to Diamond III
Canopusnvm Blog_0001
I am Canopusnvm and I've been playing for around 2 weeks now — discovering and experimenting with my plays before sharing with you guys and this is my first blogpost about my renting!
Outline
- Renting Cards for Diamond
- League Rank Up for Season Rewards
- The Special Cards and Strategy
- Sample Fights
1. Introduction to Renting
a. Check out [link to PeakMonsters!] (https://peakmonsters.com/) to start renting.
b. Click on the filters tab and select 8653 or 10864 level depending on availability and goal then click the Low Price Level to arrange it lowest price at the top. If you just want to reach D3 for season end, I would recommend an 8653 from Common to Legendary or if you want to achieve more in Diamond League and maximize dec rewards, use 10864 as below.
c. ALWAYS SELECT THE SUMMONERS FIRST!! Preferably 1 Legendary and 1 Rare/Epic summoner. I usually play with the Life (Chanseus/Paladium) and Death (Nightshade/Mortalis) summoners but as of the writing, the renting skyrocketed so this is an experimental lineup! My Limits for renting summoners is usually a maximum total of 450dec for the Legendary AND Rare/Epic that's when I came across these Lir Deepswimmer and Xia Seachan — both seldom used since water is known for its magic power!
d. After the summoners, tick the box for the monsters and select common(only) to start familiarizing yourself with the lineup of the selected summoner. Drag your cursor to the picture on the left part of the monster's name and click it to see a similar popup as below. This will determine the selection range to consider. For example, the feasting seaweed has a new skill at level 6 so I would prefer Level 6-10 depending on the availability and price.
For my hitters, I select the range with new skill and higher damage.
For my defenders, as long as I have enough shield and health (I prefer an odd number (3/5) for the shield so it procs twice).
For my buff monsters, just get the buff skill since most of them do not have shield.
e. The acceptable price range for me is 1300dec - 1500dec per set both monsters and summoners included and a dec capture rate of 80%+, preferably 100% (some tips to come in my next blogs.)
This will allow you to at most rent 2 set and have a return while achieving a high season-end rank for the 40+ CHEST!
NOTE: You can rent a higher level monster if it is cheaper -> you can still use it capped at the limits of the league and the summoner since this always happens
2. League Rank Up for Season Rewards
Always check League Limits + Summoner Limits before you rent a set!
The League limits the summoner's level and the summoner's level limits the monster's level.
As for Gold, you usually rent a Rare Summoner Level 6 and a Legendary Summoner Level 3 but since I wanted to play more in the Diamond league within the day, I tried to maximize returns by renting the maximum level of cards/optimum skills/damage/shield.
I'm trying to achieve at least Diamond 1 at the end of this season! Wish me luck :) !
3. The Special Cards and Strategy
MY FAVORITES FOR WATER
You can usually make it to Gold 1 just by playing in the Spineback Turtle, Crustacean King, and Sabre Shark and fill the extra energy up. With the thorns, the extra shield and damage, and the backline attack, it's easy to win with this lineup!!! But for an advanced strategy, I add in the Legendary Neutral Lord Arianthus who counters any lineups. Add in albatross for a leveled healing at speed 3, then the crustacean king at speed 1 to support this boss Arianthus.
Add this two up to counter heavy armor without magic stages
Add this two up to counter divine shield by the procs of the blast
Don't forget the legendaries! I usually limit it to max of 150dec for necessary legendaries in case of high energy battles.

I upvoted you, thank you for posting! 👍
damn thats alot of power! must have some amazing cards in your collections. I'm sitting around 1000 rating with 2500 Power, hoping my dailies add up to more cards instead of potions so I can stack up some value in my account
@dubble Bro I just started 2 weeks ago. I mostly rent so I need to efficiently rent and make money or at least breakeven. Still checking on strategies for this though. Usually I'm just +200-500 but worth the treasure for daily quest.
I've been researching more into the renting aspect, it did confused me at first especially when i was making like 0.3 dec a win, now it's between 6-10 I can see myself affording some cheaper cards to boost me up a little more, I gotta find myself some strats too, been using death splinter far too long to carry me
I should start with the bronze 3 to silver 3 strat. But I still have no new splinterlands accounts. I'll be borrowing a friend's starter to demonstrate the 5432 - 8653 - then this max to Champion 3. I made it in this account
I'm already in diamond 2 rating with just this water. lol. I'll take it up a notch tomorrow if rental prices are still acceptable since it's already end season
A very informative post on rentals. Hell I might go with that sets next season. I made it to diamond III and now I am facing much higher leveled cards...

I recently started playing just 5 or so days ago. I am in Gold I and now struggling and this information helps me a lot. Thank you very much!
Be careful at renting consecutive days. Take note of the Dec Capture rate so you won't lose your dec!
Good guide
Thanks!
Really nice research. How did you come up with how to set up the deck? Just by looking at prices?
Yeah. I usually just look up at the prices of the summoners -> available monsters from lowest rate -> available dec -> check capture rate
