Electric Eels Weekly Battle Challenge | Splinterlands #106
This week's battle challenge focuses on the Electric Eels:
Card Details
A promo edition rare rarity monster from the Water Splinter at level 5:
- Estimated cost: ~$11.5
- Mana cost: 4
- Melee damage: 2
- Speed: 4
- Health: 6
- Reach ability: Melee attack Monsters with the Reach ability may attack from the second position on the team.
- Blast ability: Does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target Monster.
The Electric Eels monster is a card I rarely used until the collection power update in Sept 2020, when it proved to be one of the most efficient "collection power to price" monster cards to get at the time to boost my collection power. And how glad I did. I didn't realize how useful the Electric Eels really is -> low mana cost, good combination of health, damage, speed, and abilities to make it one of the better backline melee damage support monsters in the Water Splinter.
Battle - Full Battle Replay
Battle Details
- Mana cap: 36
- Rulesets(s): Equalizer, Unprotected
Lineup Details
- Alric Stormbringer (Summoner): +1 magic damage
- The Kraken: DPS tank
- Electric Eels: support melee damage + reach ability
- Spirit Miner: support magic damage + team buffs
- Crustacean King: healing buffs to keep The Kraken alive
- Ruler of the Seas: primary magic damage
- Pirate Archer: primary range damage
Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
UNLEASH THE KRAKEN; who was ably backed up by the supporting cast of Electric Eels, Ruler of the Seas, Pirate Archer, and Crustacean King. My opposition had no answer to The Kraken, and this allowed all backline monsters to excel in this battle. The Electric Eels played its role, as well as anyone could ask of it. It kept chipping away at the opposition's monsters with the awesome Reach ability. While it wasn't doing much damage, it was doing enough to wear the opposition monsters down to allow the higher damage monsters to come and clean up.
Do you like the Electric Eels? Why or why not?
The Electric Eels is not a very popular card in the lower leagues due to lower stats, but it's a good option if you are looking for a cheap card to boost your collection power. 1 BCX of Electric Eels equates to 120 collection power. You can rent 1 BCX per day for 0.1 DEC. That gives you a 1200% collection power/rental price ratio. That seems like a pretty good deal. However, I know many prefer to use the Wave Runner as it's cheaper and packs a bigger punch, but I am happy to have the Electric Eels in my collection.

Hi @mercurial9
Totally agree with you, electric eels is a great card especially when it acquires the blast ability and is especially useful when the battle rule is little league
