Brawling, Tournaments, and Battle Assistants: Another big guild joins XBot's party
Time for another update on how the "best of the best" in Splinterlands are using XBot's Battle Helper to help (or maybe instead of) their brain come up with good lineups for brawls and tournaments...
This is our third look at the use of Battle Helper ever since it became open to general public.
Tier 3 & 4 Stepping into Battle Helper in a BIG WAY....
I'm seeing a big jump in users at Tier 3 and 4. Users in Tier 3 specifically increased by almost 50%.
Tier 5 is a real thing now, so I've added them to the chart - but so far I haven't seen any BH User at this very very exclusively highest level (yet).
Here's a count of the Guilds per Tier:
(check out the 25% increase at Tier 3)...
Guilds with BH Users | Current Cycle | Last Cycle | Total Guilds in Tier |
---|---|---|---|
Tier 5 | 0 | 0 | 2 |
Tier 4 | 25 | 23 | 35 |
Tier 3 | 51 | 41 | 122 |
Tier 2 | 42 | 37 | 258 |
Tier 1 | 26 | 24 | 384 |
And this is Users per Tier...
(and almost 50% increase in users at both T3 AND T4)
Total Users (by Tier) | Current Cycle | Last Cycle | Number of Frays |
---|---|---|---|
Tier 5 | 0 | 0 | 25 |
Tier 4 | 92 | 68 | 21 |
Tier 3 | 104 | 77 | 18 |
Tier 2 | 70 | 62 | 16 |
Tier 1 | 50 | 37 | 13 |
Other (includes players not in a brawl fray) | 31 | 28 | |
Total Users | 347 | 272 |
So more than 50% of our Tier 4 guilds have users that pay for Bot brains, and almost 50% of our Tier 3 guilds as well.
Tier 4: Into the Weeds
As usual, I take the magnifying glass out to look at specific guilds in Tier 4, where the prize pool is biggest and the stakes are highest...

✨[RKO] Outta Nowhere 🧨 is still the most dedicated user of XBot's Battle Helper, but the Legendary group of guilds has really stepped up in that department lately.
...And would you look at that! Immortal Gods joined the party! How interesting!
Tell me what you think?
What does it mean to you to see that one of our oldest, most venerable guilds has decided that a little extra Battle Help would benefit them too?
I am super intrigued with this space so let's keep watching! And if you have suggestions on what to look at next - let me know!
This post has been brought to my attention and we have a no bot pledge by all of our members. I don't know how this service works, so I will check into it.
I know we had defined bots in tourneys and brawls as a computer entering the matches vs humans (but assisted tools were allowed since they would be almost impossible to stop).
I will be happy to let you know what the answer is when I get it.
Yeah, thanks for the comment @davemccoy. It seems that assisted tools are a bit of a mixed bag of feelings for many. Personally, I'd rather no one used them. But they exist and it's a sticky wicket, as they say... And the definition of bot is a bit of a sliding scale - this IS an autobattle blockchain game, after all :)
To give you a quick overview of the service, it works like this:
Any person, whether or not they hold an XBot token or use it for botting ranked play, can send DEC to a specified XBot account to load some credits with the service, and ask XBot's discord bot to recommend lineups for any current match they have started. This service also works for brawls and tournament matches, and fees can range from 1-50 DEC per match.
From my end, I've tracked every user that has sent DEC to this account since they opened it up to anyone. I've then matched them to their current guild and the most recent Fray. My focus is on the OVERALL STATE of brawling and "bot-assisted" lineups, so I've avoided naming individual users, but I think guilds are fair game. (Although the data is all there.)
Oh I see you you look at the time of the transactions and you check it through the block explorer?. That's a lot of work, so you can be sure that is being used for brawls. Good job.
Hey @palasatenea unfortunately no, there's no way to time stamp usage, or to guarantee that they are using for brawls only, because that info goes through private discord messages and is not on-chain. I'm sure many of these users might be using for tournaments (is that preferable?)
It's even possible that some players are only paying DEC to get lineups for ranked, however it's a pretty reasonable assumption that is the minority, for two reasons:
That is part of the reason I've chosen to only name top guilds instead of users. While I am confident the MAJORITY of BH users are using for brawls and/or tournaments, there will be the occasional exception. However the overall patterns remain the same.
If a player claims they only use for ranked, it is up to the reader to decide for themselves.
I posted the past article to figure out what was happening with that unique player using the helper, he claims that used it only in ranked, how do you differentiate the use in brawls with payment for other participations, for example tournaments or ranked?.
I believe the player that told me because he did voluntarily and it's an old and committed player of our guild, a nice man too.
Not very pleasing to see that those numbers keep going up. It's sad and worrying.
Great detective work! I am prepared for the bot take over :)
We can all wear tinfoil hats so we can blend in.
Bots is already 2+ years old Why are you bringing my name recently when I just got the bot haha?
I told Aggy I will bot the shit out of this Project when he showed me he doesn't care about guilds and lands ( he does not care about the community at all )
Also, BH helper is a service people who pay dec pay for the service it's not a bot.
Thanks Mister RKO. I'm sorry if you feel this was targeted at you. It's really not about you. I didn't name any players at all, just talking about which guilds seem to be using the Service.
And 100% agreed, it's not exactly the same as a bot, but it does use the same brains as XBot. So I've been using the term "Bot brains" - it's catchy, isn't it? 🤣
Finally, I do understand your position, as long as the team is silent on the matter, I can't blame anyone for wanting to use tools like these to make their Splinterlands journey a little easier. That doesn't mean I have to just accept it without making a fuss about it.
So thanks for the chat, as always.
!BEER
I do understand your position also , believe me for months if not years I tried to tell Aggy things too. but he choose to ban me over a silly dm outburst.
Sorry to hear that. Well we are on Hive, no banning here! 😉
