Splinterlands | Glint Points

Over the years, one thing that has been consistent about Splinterlands is its evolution and redefining moments. That’s what makes the game exciting and something new to look forward to. The same thing happened with the rewards system within the game.

Earlier, there used to be daily chests that we could win based on our victories in the ranked battle. That system had its own excitement, but the new system was even more fun. With every ranked battle victory, we get Glints. These Glints can be exchanged for numerous things in the Glint shop.

How about we take a look at the glint shop, shall we? But before that, shall we spend a minute getting to know Splinterlands? After all, that’s where you will find all these fun battles, rules, and monsters.

What Game is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a digital card game that allows you to collect, trade, battle, rent, and even earn from the cards. It was founded in 2018 and is still going strong. The game gives Play to Earn a whole different meaning. By now, you would know that the governance token (SPS) airdrop made millionaires out of the early adopters. It still keeps giving and remains a fun and engaging game.

To give you an idea of how lucky you can get in Splinterlands, read my story of getting cards worth $500 from buying only a few packs worth $20.

Got Cards Worth $500 from $20 Packs

And this is just a tiny number. I have witnessed people getting uber-expensive cards in their pack and selling them for as high as $6500. There is a whole Splinterlands marketplace on the Hive blockchain and now on Wax too. And now the sales of the Rebellion packs, the newest of the lot, have also started.

But Where Do We Find The Glints?

That’s a good question. Let’s start with that. Here is a snapshot of the path to the glint shop in the game.

Glint_Reward_1b.jpg

See that? That’s how we access the glint shop and our glints in the game. Also, one thing to remember is that the glint we earn is split into one part that is immediately available, and the other part that we get at the end of the season. The latter is a nice stash to look forward to.

Anyway, let’s proceed to see what we can get from the glint shop.

First Option | Cards

The most obvious buying choice is cards. With the glint available we can buy cards that are differentiated in rarity. The glint cost increases with the increase in rarity.

Let’s try buying some cards with the glint I have.

Glint_Reward_2b.jpg

There you see. The common draws are 150 for each card. So, I could buy 5 of them as shown in the snapshot. I could have gone for a rare draw too, but I would have got just one card.

Anyway, let’s see what my cards look like.

And now we open them. Just click on each and they will turn and reveal themselves.

Not bad, huh? I loved it.

But these are just one of the options available. There are more.

Second Option | Chest

Players who had been playing for some time would go for this option. Why? Because it reminds most of them of the earlier rewards that would come in the form of chests.

This is what the chest option looks like. Here too we have a choice of categories of chest, and like the cards, costs more as the chest category increases.

I went for the minor chests basis the glint I had. And like the cards, the chests are made available for opening.

Cool, right? But that’s not all.

There are more options in the glint shop.

More Options | Exclusives and Resources

The cards and chests should keep you returning for more. But if you want some zing to the awards, there are more options.

What are they? Here they are:

The more enterprising players could buy the exclusives which also form the game tags. Needless to say, they cost way more than the chests or cards.

In addition, there are resources too, that can be used in the game. One of them is the merits that could be bought with glint. Before the glint shop, merit could only be earned through Guild Brawls. These merits could be exchanged for Guild card packs.

Generally, 2000 merit points are required to buy one GL pack. Sometimes, there is a shortfall of merit points and there was no way to fulfill it other than through the next Guild Brawl. However, that condition has changed now. With the introduction of merits that can be bought with glint, players can buy the shortfall here, and use the same to exchange for GL packs.

How cool is that? Cool indeed!

The Glint Shop | Shopping Non-Stop

Players can play to their heart's content, win glint, and use the same to buy rewards every day; in fact, multiple times each day. Splinterlands has found the optimum way to keep the play-to-earn genre interesting. Players can continue to play and keep enjoying the rewards that follow.

I enjoyed writing about the Glint shop. I hope you enjoyed reading about it. So, what are you waiting for? Head to the game, keep playing and enjoy earning glint and splurging on the rewards. Have fun! 😊

Namaste!
