Unforgettable Memories: A Magical Trip to Nainital

Hello hiver,
Today, as I was scrolling through my gallery . I found some photos from a trip we took four years ago to Nainital, where we celebrated my daughter Ayesha’s 10th birthday. Those lovely memories came rushing back to me.

We had traveled from Kanpur to Kathgodam by train and then took a taxi to Nainital. The distance from Kathgodam to Nainital is 35 kilometers, and it takes about 1 hour to reach there. I still remember the date—July 4th—because the next day was Ayesha’s birthday.

Our taxi stopped near Naini Lake, and I still can't forget that view. Right in front of us, clouds slowly covered the entire lake. We had booked a hotel right by the lake, where we rested for a bit after arriving.

Later, we went out to admire the lake and spent an hour there, just taking in the beautiful scene.

We even went boating on Naini Lake, which was such a peaceful experience, surrounded by the misty mountains.

The next morning, we were greeted with a clear view of the Himalayas from the himalayaveiw point. Seeing those majestic peaks in the distance was a breathtaking moment, adding to the magic of our trip. It was the first time I had seen a lake completely covered by clouds. Someone nearby joked that the clouds had come down to fetch water, making Ayesha’s birthday even more special.

During our stay in Nainital, we also visited the famous Sherwood Convent School, which was a treat for Ayesha, who loves exploring schools in different places. We then spent some time at the Nainital Zoo, where my daughters was thrilled to see the variety of animals. The trip didn’t end there; we also took a day trip to Ranikhet, where we enjoyed the serene beauty and lush greenery that the place had to offer.

Looking back, that trip to Nainital was filled with so many wonderful experiences—from the peaceful boating on Naini Lake and the stunning view of the Himalayas to exploring the zoo and the beautiful town of Ranikhet. It’s a trip that holds a special place in my heart, filled with memories that I’ll always cherish.
Thank you for visiting my post.
