Congratulations and Screw You! @splinterlands Praetoria Lands Expasion Sold Out In Minutes

It was absolutely beautiful and disappointing to see. An hour before the pre-sale begin, there were 48 whales registered for bulk purchase of a region at insane discounts. There were only 27 Regions reserved for whales and there were already demand for 48 of them. Small time buyers only had 3 Regions (1000 Plots). The website basically crashed on me:

If This Was An ICO - It Was A Monumental Success

Imagine having initial demand for a product that won't be out for ~9 months that has nothing to show except some claims and promises end up getting at least twice the demand for the asset supply without even spending anything marketing and shilling all over the internet.

It Feels So Great

This is 4 minutes after the pre-sale when I could finally get the website to work. It was a proud and disappointing moment:

I feel absolutely great about all my time and funds spent o @splinterlands and I would feel even better if I could just have more of it.

Happy Investing!

Yeah, as an ICO it's a success, for stage 1. But for players who didn't get anything even though they were on time, that's a major disappointment.

Maybe @splinterlands team didn't expect the reception to be this good. Untamed and Dice pack sales had slowed too. With so many whales left without a chance to buy, I wouldn't expect much luck next time either. But at least I will give it a try. Chances are still not 0%

Kudos to @splinterlands! And again the whales are taking the biggest slice of the cake and leaving us just the crumbs hehehe jk. But I did not plan to buy right now anyway, I have other projects and investments to make, I'm actually taking a break from splinterlands, it was consuming a lot of my time, maybe I'll try again in a couple of months.

Most of the whales didn't have access to the pre-sale either. There were at least 48 whales and only 27 of them were guaranteed a piece (and that was out of a lottery draw)

My guild was in the pre-sale with 3 (!) region pools and got none. We just wanted one but tried to get better chances. But nada. One of my worst Splinterlands moment since the Pre-Alpha.

@splinterlands team had severely underestimated the community and the demand. They created too much marketing hype and had too little available for purchase.

You might just have dodged a bullet.

Prices will come down in a few months.

Remember cryptokitties.

Remember the TH sell off.

Now is FOMO time.

Sell some DEC, buy in later.

already did it when it is at .0054, now I want it to come at .0027 to get in par.

For the short term, I hope so. But in the long run we will have to purchase Land at twice the price and they are going to have a lot of value in the future. I think we are in this mess because there wasn't enough supply to match the demand.

Do not worry, stack you DEC, I guess next October they will create something more amazing and in better supply and we will take our chances then.

We're not witnessing demand for land here, we're witnessing demand to make a profit, which is dependent on the game-play demand in the future.

I don't detect too much of the later.

Also - put yer DEC into ETH/ BTC - they might double or treble in value while land stagnates for the next few months, and you end up getting it cheaper in relative terms.
