September sees 10,000 + NEW Splinterlands Spellbook owners DAILY
Three years of slow steady growth
A year ago, we counted ourselves lucky if our Spellbook purchases hit double digits in a day. It wasn't uncommon to see fewer than 10 sold in a 24 hour period. These low, steady numbers held even for many long months, and we had cause for celebration any time we saw more than 40 new Spellbooks owners in a day.
March begins the climb
Things at last began to pick up a little about six months ago. In March, April, May and June we'd occasionally see 100+ Spellbooks purchased in a day. These milestones were few and far between, however, with most days still seeing around 50 or 60 Spellbooks sold to new users.
July's 10x growth
Then, halfway through July of this year, we all watched with slack jaws as the Spellbooks purchased daily grew exponentially. Around 70 new Spellbooks owners a day at the beginning of the month became around 3,000 by the end of those thirty days. July's daily average of around 600 was ten times June's 60.
August's 10x growth
This exciting growth continued into August, as the influx of new players began to buy more than 7,000 Spellbooks a day by the end of the month. This represented a quadrupling of the the daily purchase numbers from the start of the month to the end, and August's average of nearly 6,000 new spellbook owners a day was almost ten times July's 600.
September sees 10,000+ Spellbooks purchased daily
September is starting off incredibly strong, with over 10,000 Spellbooks purchased every day of this month so far. Before July of this year, we had never even seen 2,000 new Spellbook owners in an entire month, and now we are seeing 5 times that amount joining us every single day.
If we zoom out from the daily numbers and look at the total numbers of Splinterlands Spellbook owners over time, the story is even more clear: Splinterlands has been slowly and steadily gaining asset owners since its creation in 2018, and recently things have just been exploding. One out of every five Spellbooks ever purchased (20% of all Spellbooks in existence at this moment) were bought in the last five days alone.

More beginners guides for moving through bronze, as well as dynamic market guides to help push past it. What I mean is, whenever a card guide comes out, those cards spike in price, but if you teach people what to look for in their own cards, rather than specific ones, it could help balance the prices.
Well, what to look for in cards is sort of dependent on the type of comp you want in general. That said there are ways to identify better cards yourself. I just put together a guide recently and a small section of it talks about my method.

as a new player: game seems awesome 😄. Getting started seems hard now with the recent surge in card prices (especially summoners lvl 2). Curious where the road will lead to.
New set is coming out (hopefully) soon. This will mean more summoners for everyone
Just keep plugging away and be patient. The new cards will be coming but the Splinterlands team, as the post indicates, has never experienced such crazy growth. They are absolutely re-thinking their numbers strategies for how many cards and card packs they will be creating for the different things. The Splinterlands team is very good at being thoughtful of now only right now but the future. It would be a shame to have all of the card packs sold in 2 or 3 months. It would be fantastic financially but it won't lead to much long-term success of the game I don't think.
Best advice is just try to win what you can, keep that DEC as much as you can and try to buy the reward variety cards. The reward ones will be the cheapest ones you can find.

I am one of those folks who joined in early August. I went from having no idea what I was doing to...well, I still don't have much of an idea of what I'm doing, but I certainly know more than I did before. Plus, I am enjoying the heck out of learning card strategies through gameplay, appreciate the supportive players, and the overall vibe of the #spt community.
Good news, the game is growing and so are the odds.

Created my account a while back but I just got into the game ten days ago. This game grew so much, it is amazing to follow and I'm very excited to be a part of it.
That is a truly stunning explosion of growth, to say the least. As well as a nice example of how great projects often just "go along in an OK fashion" until suddenly they hit "critical mass" and the floodgates open.
The very first time I saw the earliest version of "SteemMonsters" I had a feeling this could become the blockchain version of MTG. The potential is there!

It was only a matter of time until people realize the power of play to earn and owning your ingame assets. Seeing this growth is amazing and shows a promising future for splinterlands.
SPT going to have game use other than airdrop & nft collector cards? Not that it needs more it is blowing up so fast the price rise in coin & nft cards.
Holy cow. It will be interesting how long the chaos packs will last. We have been so starved for new cards. I am going to be buying as many as I can.

I don't know if the growth of the playerbase is benefecial to older players or not since the rewards will be less because of more players sharing it. Even though, I still believe that it will have a positive impact since its encouraged by the devs. Can anyone enligthen me on this? I'm kinda newbie on this game. I just played last month with two accounts. My highest rank is Silver 1. Thank you masters! :D
